Improving Physical Health and Well-Being with the Healthy Nutrition Legion

Companion Masoumeh and her husband, Amir-Houshang, joined Congress 60 while struggling with addiction to meth and opium. They began their journey under the guidance of Traveler Sajad and Companion Shahla at the Hidaj branch, and they have now been free from addiction for 9 years, 6 months, and 5 days.
She has served in many roles within Congress 60, including Secretary, Website Guardian (Administrator), Exam Supervisor at the branch, Darts Sports Coordinator, member of the Sardar Legion, Newcomers’ Guide, Orange Scarf Guide, and Branch Agent at Gheidar.  She is now serving as the Guide of the Healthy Nutrition Legion. She joined the Healthy Nutrition Legion at a weight of 79.5 kg. Over a journey of 16 months and 8 days under the guidance of Companion Monireh, she lost 15.5 kilograms. On June 5, 2025, she received the Flower of Liberation from excess weight from Mr. Dezhakam. She is now liberated for 1 month and 12 days. Now we have an interview with her, which I bring to your kind attention.

  • What is the Healthy Nutrition Legion, and why was this name chosen?

The Healthy Nutrition Legion is one of the specialized parts of Congress 60, focusing on healthy nutrition, physical health, fitness, and lifestyle correction. The name of this legion was inspired by Lady Jones, one of Mr. Dezhakam’s mentors. It emphasizes endurance, discipline, proper portion sizes, the right timing of meals, and the balance of body and mind. By choosing this name, Mr. Dezhakam intended to highlight that achieving healthy weight loss or weight gain requires perseverance, effort, and adherence to correct principles rather than quick and harmful methods.

  • What was the main purpose of establishing the Healthy Nutrition Legion? Is it only about weight loss?

No, the main purpose of this legion is not only weight loss. The goals can be summarized as follows:
1. Correcting eating habits and reducing harmful substances such as artificial sugars, unhealthy fats, and junk food, in order to reach an ideal weight–whether through healthy weight loss or healthy weight gain.
2.  Improving physical and mental health through proper nutrition.
3.  Learning a healthy lifestyle without resorting to unnatural methods such as stomach surgery or chemical diet pills.

  • How does the Healthy Nutrition method work in Jones Legion?

1.  Reducing and balancing harmful foods such as artificial sweeteners, soft drinks, industrial oils, and processed foods.
2. Emphasizing natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, healthy proteins (like fish and chicken), whole grains, and legumes.
3.  Maintaining food discipline: eating regular meals and avoiding both overeating and prolonged fasting.
4. Consuming healthy fats in moderation, including animal fat, olive oil, raw nuts, and seeds.
5. Avoiding extreme diets: weight loss or weight gain must be gradual and sustainable.

  • What is the message of the Healthy Nutrition Legion members to those who turn to surgery or artificial methods?

Body sculpting and stomach surgery may bring quick results, but they often lead to irreversible side effects. In this legion, we learn that by following healthy nutrition and regular walking, we can reach our ideal weight without harming the body. We must always remember: Health is more important than achieving quick results.

  • Are any foods completely prohibited in the Healthy Nutrition Legion?

No, but it is recommended to reduce and control the intake of certain foods and replace them with healthier alternatives. For example, honey or natural syrups can replace refined sugar, olive oil, sesame oil, or animal fats can replace hydrogenated oils, and fresh juices can replace sodas and artificial juices. It is also better to avoid junk foods, canned foods, and fried foods as much as possible. However, no food group is completely eliminated; what matters is maintaining balance and health in consumption.

  • Is there a difference between the diet for weight loss and the diet for weight gain in this Legion?

No. The Healthy Nutrition Legion of Congress 60 teaches a healthy lifestyle, not a temporary diet. The same method applies to both weight loss and weight gain, with the ultimate goal of achieving physical and mental health through proper nutrition. This includes practices such as eating two eggs for breakfast, having salad 20 minutes before main meals, drinking D.Sap (fermented apple syrup), walking, and eating meals regularly at set times.

  • Did you face obstructive forces during your journey in the Healthy Nutrition Legion?

Yes. There were challenges at the beginning of the journey in the Healthy Nutrition Legion, as in any corrective process. These included:
1.  Food temptations: Cravings for sweets, junk food, or slipping back into old habits.
2.  Slow results: Natural weight loss or gain takes time, which can sometimes be discouraging.
3. Social pressures: For example, gatherings or the insistence of others to eat unhealthy foods.
In Congress 60, we receive training and develop proper awareness and understanding. With the support of our guide and fellow travelers, we learn to quiet the whispers of the mind and replace harmful foods with healthy choices. Above all, we must remain patient, trust in the Congress 60 method and the body’s natural process.

  • What has been your greatest achievement and liberation in the Jones Healthy Nutrition Legion?

1. Liberation from dependency on artificial and processed foods, such as reducing the use of soft drinks, artificial sweets, and unhealthy oils.
2. Achieving a balanced weight without the need for surgery or chemical medications.
3. A lifestyle transformation: learning healthy nutrition as a permanent habit, not a temporary diet.
4. Physical and mental health: reducing stress and gaining self-confidence through improved physical condition, vitality, and overall well-being.
But above all, my greatest achievement has been learning and serving others–helping them to free themselves from illness and reach true health. The Jones Legion of Congress 60 proves that proper knowledge and awareness of the body and its real needs are far more effective than quick but dangerous methods, such as surgery or drugs. The ultimate success is when both body and mind are freed from harmful dependencies and accept health as a lifelong value.

  • Like many others who have joined the Healthy Nutrition Legion, did you also have illnesses or conditions that improved or disappeared after joining?

Yes. Similar to many members of the Jones Legion, I was struggling with several health challenges, including hypothyroidism, snoring, irregular menstrual cycles, tonsil stones, high cholesterol, low energy, and shortness of breath. By following the principles of this method–proper nutrition, regulated meals, and lifestyle adjustment–I experienced significant improvement.

  • Like most women, had you also tried different methods to lose weight that did not work? How did you find the performance of the Healthy Nutrition Legion? Was it like those other methods or not?

Yes. In the past, I tried intense exercise for years, but my weight never went below 69 kilograms, and even then, it was not stable. The Healthy Nutrition Legion was completely different, as it focuses on proper nutrition without deprivation and works to regulate the body’s hormones. Weight loss in this method is gradual but lasting, and without side effects such as hair loss or severe weakness. As Mr. Dezhakam says: Everyone must exercise, because exercise is necessary for health. Along with walking, I also practice resistance training, and by combining healthy nutrition with exercise, I have achieved both physical health and well-being, as well as mental peace.

  • How important do you consider the role of exercise? Does this method require intense workouts?

In this method, exercise is complementary, not the main factor. Intense workouts are not only unnecessary but can also put stress on the body and lead to excessive cortisol secretion, which weakens the immune system. Instead, the focus is on lighter activities such as walking, yoga, or gentle resistance training, which help strengthen the muscles. As Mr. Dezhakam often says: Our muscles, not our children, will be our walking stick in old age and the priority is to regulate nutrition and improve metabolism first, followed by walking and exercise to maintain fitness and overall health.

  • Is there anything else you would like to share with those who are seeking a healthy way to lose or gain weight?

The most important message for those who want to change their weight in a healthy way is this:
1. Stay away from quick and radical methods. Sustainable weight loss or gain requires time, awareness, and changing habits.
2.  Listen to your body and understand its language (the symphony of the body).
3. Both starvation and overeating are harmful.
4. The Healthy Nutrition Legion is a lifestyle, not a temporary diet. Its success lies in knowledge, awareness, and balance in body, mind, and healthy nutrition.
5. Positive thinking and group support–such as the companionship in the Legion–will multiply your motivation.

Finally, I want to thank all those who supported me on this journey, especially Mr. Dezhakam for creating this method, my guide companion Monireh, and companion Khandan (the first secretary of the Healthy Nutrition Legion).
