How Do I Use the Website, Social Media, and Artificial Intelligence in Congress 60

I have emphasized this point: when a crisis arises, we do not retreat; we must find a solution.

How Do I Use the Website, Social Media, and Artificial Intelligence in Congress 60

The 14th session of the 87th round of Congress 60’s worldview workshops for travelers and companions, with Mr. Hossein Dezhakam serving as the Master and Guardian of the session and Companion Talat as the Secretary, began at 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 (Shahrivar 25, 1405). The agenda was: “How Do I Use the Website, Social Media, and Artificial Intelligence in Congress 60?”
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
With strength drawn from the Absolute Power of God, we begin this session.
Hello, friends. I am Hossein, a Traveler and the guardian of this session. [Audience responds: Hello, Hossein!]
I kindly ask everyone to observe fourteen seconds of silence to seek refuge in the Almighty and free ourselves from our greatest enemy—our own ignorance and unawareness. [Fourteen seconds of silence observed]
Thank you, friends.
I would like to ask our esteemed secretary to give a summary of the previous session and introduce today’s agenda.
[After the secretary provided the summary of the previous session, Mr. Dezhakam started his speech as follows:]
Hello, friends. I am Hossein, a Traveler. I hope you are all doing well. I am doing well too, thank God. Today is September 16, 2026. There are about five or six days left until the end of summer, and then we will enter autumn. It is currently 10:12 a.m., and we are here at the Simorgh building [Academy Branch of Congress 60] in Tehran.
I have a few points to share with you. The first is about how to use the microphone. Whether you are participating and sharing your experiences [for each agenda], serving as the Master of the Session, or acting as the Secretary, you must speak directly into the microphone. It should be positioned in front of your mouth; do not hold it too far away or angled sideways. When serving as the Secretary or Master of the Session, the first step is to adjust the microphone stand, since the stand is adjustable, you must position the microphone properly in front of your mouth to ensure the sound reaching the hall or being recorded is clear. Similarly, when using a handheld microphone, some individuals hold it like this [too far from the mouth or pointing away]; consequently, the sound does not reach the microphone properly. Keep it no more than four fingers away from your mouth. Listen to your own voice; if it is too loud, move the microphone back slightly, and if it is too weak, bring it closer. You must maintain control over how you use the equipment.
The next point is that all the forms you present [to receive the liberation command] must be standard. This means if a form requires both a seal and a signature, it must have both; otherwise, we will not issue the liberation command. On the 40-CD form, each individual entry requires the Guide’s signature and seal; in the Guide’s absence, the Agent must sign and seal it. This continues until all 40 CDs have been approved. Also, your photo must always be on the form. If the cigarette, 30-CD, or 40-CD form does not have a photo, the liberation command will not be issued—even if you have come all the way from another city. The seal must be placed exactly in the designated space. For example, if the form specifies the ‘Marzban’s seal’ but the Marzban (Border Guard) has stamped the header [instead of the designated space], or if it requires a signature and is left unsigned, the form will be sent back. You must follow these instructions.

Another matter concerns Cpngress 60’s buildings: any construction project we undertake must be reviewed by the Congress 60 Engineering Department first. Otherwise, it will cause problems. Consider the Semnan branch as an example. In response to their request to build a kitchen on the roof, I permitted a small one on the left side of the roof. Instead, they built a huge 6-by-8-meter kitchen on a hall with a 14-meter span and no columns. It will collapse; the building cannot support such a load. When you want to add a load, it has to be properly calculated by engineers. God forbid, in winter or whenever, the hall’s ceiling could collapse while people are sitting inside, just like what happened at Mehrabad Airport a few years ago. So, I ordered the kitchen to be demolished. They had spent a lot of money, but I told them to dismantle it. Building such a large structure on a roof with no columns is extremely dangerous. So, regarding construction work, if it is just repairing a damaged wall or building a small toilet or restroom, that is not a major issue. But if you intend to undertake any heavy construction work, it must be inspected by the Engineering Department. This is one of the points we must make sure to follow in our work.
Regarding the Publication Centers [in all branches of Congress 60, there is a center where Mr. Dezhakam’s publications are sold], I mentioned this before: the responsibility [of this office] lies with the Agent. If the Agent wants to make a change, they must coordinate with the Publications department. There is a serious financial matter involved here. As I mentioned before, the total turnover is around 18 to 19 billion Tomans, involving CDs, books, pamphlets, and some other related matters. A single branch may have a turnover of 100, 200, or 300 million Tomans. An Agent cannot simply [based on personal preference] say, “Remove this person and put my own pupil in their place”; later on, the responsibility will fall directly on the Agent himself.
Everything is proceeding excellently, and our research work is also moving forward very, very well. We are in contact with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and I am a member of it. As a result of our papers, presentations, and other such activities, we are also in the process of joining the World Stem Cell Application Network (WSCAN). Numerous research papers have also been accepted, and we are waiting for them to be published soon. We are also writing and authoring some other papers too. As I mentioned last time, our paper on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) was republished by Harvard University. This is extremely important; it is by no means a small matter. Harvard is one of the major universities in the world. For a university like Harvard to republish a paper from Iran on MS and bring it to wider attention is highly significant. Once Harvard republished it, many major universities and websites around the world also republished the paper. Our other papers are also progressing, and this work is continuing.

Another issue concerns the supply of Opium Tincture (OT). Although some addiction treatment clinics are still dispensing it, there have been shortages. We have advised members that they can use raw opium to prepare the opium tincture themselves, and we have explained how to prepare it. I have emphasized this point: when a crisis arises, we do not retreat; we must find a solution. Therefore, please support the members by providing them with the necessary knowledge and guidance [on how to prepare and make OT themselves].
Today’s topic is the Congress 60 website, Instagram, and artificial intelligence (AI). We were among the first [organizations] to launch a website, at a time when websites were not yet widely available. Today, the Congress 60 website is available in both Persian and English, with many people working on each version. Instagram is another important part of our work. Our Instagram page is very active, with many people creating and reposting videos. These platforms have helped us take part in scientific discussions and share information with others. Today, the online world is vital to our mission. It perfectly complements our in-person activities, enabling us to share our knowledge and awareness with the world through our website and Instagram.
Mr. Hamed Rahmati oversees the Persian website, Ms. Elaheh Sadeghi manages the English site, and Shani [Ms. Shani Dezhakam] leads our Instagram team. Together with their dedicated teams, they work tirelessly. On the Persian website, for instance, the team is active every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday—often from early morning until late at night. They operate behind the scenes; while we see our Marzbans, the OT officials, and the publications team [in person], the people powering our digital presence often go unnoticed. During the upcoming Website and Instagram Week [focused on the agenda: How Do I Use the Website, Social Media, and AI in Congress 60?], you can invite these members to your branches as guest speakers. They can talk about their work and the challenges they face. You can also offer your suggestions so that we can make further progress in this area. This way, we can share our message with the world. It held true for AI [Mr. Dezhakam was the first figure emphasizing that all Congress 60 members are supposed to use AI, so that AI’s database would be enriched by the information about Congress 60].

When we launched our website, even government organizations didn’t have websites yet; the web was only just beginning to take off globally when we started. It had many ups and downs—which I won’t get into right now—but we kept moving forward. It was much the same with Instagram. Now, we are applying the same proactive approach to AI. This is why I brought up the subject a couple of years ago; I emphasized that Congress 60 members need to be able to work with AI. Whether we like it or not, this technology is advancing, and we cannot afford to fall behind. Older generations may find digital platforms challenging, but we must adapt. Today, I decided that we must establish a dedicated AI unit within Congress 60. Members should start learning and experimenting with these tools. Whether we like it or not, this issue exists, and to be fair, it is a tremendous help in several areas.
Suppose we want to research a topic—for instance, what the benefits or harms of an aspirin tablet are. We type it into AI, and it immediately tells us what the harms and risks are. As another example, you type in, ‘Who is Mr. Hossein Dezhakam?’ and it tells you who he is and what he does; if it has the information, it provides it. AI’s knowledge is no greater than human knowledge; AI only provides what people have fed into it and what it has been trained on. For example, if someone previously shared who Mr. Hossein Dezhakam is, or if it was posted on the Mashhad branch’s website, AI gathers that information and delivers it to us. So, this presents a tremendous opportunity for us. When you use AI, you need to engage with it continuously and provide it with information—making it clear, for example, that sudden withdrawal [cold turkey] is an incorrect approach to addiction. Talk with it, discuss with it, and explain how the proper addiction cure works according to the DST method [Congress 60’s addiction cure method: D for Mr. Dezhakam using the 0.8 coefficient to change dosage, S for 21-day Steps, and T for Time—a cure duration of at least ten months]. Discuss these points with AI; as you continue the discussion, it absorbs your input. Consequently, if someone asks it about addiction cure methods in the future, it will be able to distinguish between what is effective and what is harmful. Take methadone, for instance: what are its real harms? Go onto AI and highlight all of its side effects and harms! Or what about B2 [buprenorphine tablets]—what are their actual dangers? Go and actively present these facts to the AI.

As I mentioned before, some doctors nowadays prescribe OT for cancer patients—when they see that a patient is in the final stages, has no treatment options left, and is in pain, they prescribe OT not as a treatment, but as a painkiller. In one such case, a doctor prescribed 17 cc of OT as the initial daily dose for a cancer patient—17 cc! If we want to start someone whose body is not adapted to opioids, we begin with 0.3 cc. So, this doctor prescribed nearly 60 times what we prescribe. Opium also has a potentially fatal dose of 1.2 to 1.5 grams, and 17 cc of OT is equivalent to 1.7 grams of opium. An initial dose of 1.7 grams of opium can cause a great deal of harm, including severe constipation. It reminds me of the story I told before about a man who had been drinking alcohol [a punishable offense under Islamic law] and was taken before a judge. The judge said, “Give him a thousand lashes!” The man said, “Your Honor, either you’ve never had alcohol, or you’ve never been whipped, or you don’t know what a thousand means! Come on, a thousand lashes! You could have said 20 or 10, but not a thousand lashes!” Now, think about it: instead of an initial dose of half a cc, 1 cc, or 2 cc, doctors prescribe 17 cc of OT! This is because this particular information is not included in the mainstream protocol [the protocol followed by doctors, which is different from Congress 60’s protocol].
These days, some suggest using B2 or methadone instead of OT. B2 or methadone can simply never replace OT. Methadone destroys the liver, harms the kidneys, causes depression, and leads to a whole host of other problems. Our research has shown that it even compromises cellular mitochondria and causes severe, lasting damage. The same is true for B2. You cannot simply stop OT and replace it with methadone. How can you establish these facts? Through AI! And who can do it? Each and every one of you. Go ask questions and engage in discussions with  AI—whether in writing or by voice. The same applies to our website and Instagram. Interview Congress 60 members—let them share the reality of these medications: what is effective, what is harmful, and how they actually impact the body’s internal system. Also, address the OT shortage with our members. There is a shortage of Opium Tincture; the Headquarters is certainly working hard, striving to resolve this; in some cities, the Tincture has already been distributed again. Consider our website and Instagram as our magazine and newspaper; they are incredibly effective tools, and through them, we can help so many others. Do not underestimate their power.
If you maintain personal pages where you discuss matters unrelated to Congress 60, do not wear your service shawl [which identifies your status as a service provider, such as a Guide, Marzban, or Didehban] in those posts. Furthermore, never leverage your Congress 60 status to engage in political opposition. I have clearly stated that members must not promote Congress 60 on any platform other than our official website. Do not follow or engage with any unauthorized pages claiming to represent us. This directive applies to all members, and Guides, in particular, must strictly refrain from such activity. We must ensure that Congress 60 is perceived correctly by society; we cannot allow any room for misunderstanding. This matter is of the utmost importance.

The Congress 60 ID card is essential for Travelers in their first journey, particularly if they are inspected while carrying OT; it serves as their proof of authorization. Other members, however, do not need to carry their ID cards at all times. Furthermore, do not follow or engage with any unauthorized pages or websites that exploit the name of Congress 60 for self-promotion under any circumstances. As our online activity grows, we must be extremely cautious with our words and actions on all digital platforms, including Instagram, to safeguard the future of Congress 60. Observe the difference: in some branches, 700 to 1,000 of us gather together without ever being questioned. Elsewhere, a gathering of merely ten people is immediately challenged and interrogated. The difference lies in our absolute respect for the laws of the country. If we want to keep our path clear and truly love Congress 60, we must strictly comply with these regulations.
The government cannot simply shut down a university; it is a complicated matter. It cannot easily shut down a government office either. An NGO, however, can be shut down quite easily. A single phone call [from the relevant authorities] is all it takes for them to say, “Pack it up.” Therefore, if we want Congress 60 to remain strong and continue our work, we must comply with the current laws. Fortunately, we have always done so, and they always help us whenever there is an issue. Take Taleghani Park, for example: our ladies [female companions and travelers] exercise and play music right next to the martyrs’ memorial, and nobody questions us about it—even with 400 or 500 women and 2,000 or 3,000 men there. Now, we must observe the same rules in the online space as well.

And here, I, for my part, would like to express my full gratitude to all the Instagram team members—the ladies on Instagram who put in so much effort, and whose hard work I personally witness—as well as the website team. In Tehran, the Persian website team is constantly on duty, working tirelessly, and the same goes for the English website team. I fully appreciate and thank you all. As is my custom, I have always given a gift to the website team every year. Now, if any members of the website or Instagram teams are here, please come forward so I can present you with your gifts, and you can share a few brief words. If you are here, please raise your hand and come up. Let’s give them a round of applause. If any of the Instagram or website team members couldn’t make it this week, you can come next week, and I will speak with you then. Please give the microphone to Mr. Hamed. Mr. Hamed is in charge of the [Persian] website.

[Regarding the suggestion made by Mr. Hamed to re-enable comments on the Congress 60 website, Mr. Dezhakam stated:]
I will not permit the comments section to be opened; we have been down this road before. We previously had an open forum, and it descended into total chaos. People started taking sides—revolutionaries against counter-revolutionaries, religious against non-religious—and the resulting clashes were unbelievable. I finally shut it all down. I will only reopen the comments when we have reached the cultural maturity required [for constructive discourse]. Until then, I am reminded of my late mother—may she rest in peace—who used to say, “A closed door keeps the trouble out.” When she was using opium, an open house door meant people would wander in and sit right next to her [to smoke her opium]. She would say to me, “Close the door, dear; a closed door keeps the trouble out.” So, the comments remain closed—to keep the trouble out.
“[Following comments regarding the gap between our view counts and engagement by a server in Instagram of Congress 60, Mr. Dezhakam added:]”
She pointed out that our posts have two and a half million views, but only two thousand likes. You must bridge this gap. Today, social media is vital; every view and every like counts. Take this responsibility seriously.
[Addressing persistent requests to enable the website comments section, Mr. Dezhakam stated:]
Since both Hamed and Ali want the comment section enabled—and even though I was personally opposed to this idea—I will open it on a trial basis for one month to see how it goes. (Audience cheers) Thank you. Look, all these dear members working on the site are counting on your active participation. The reward for their hard work—for the energy they pour into this project—is your follows, likes, and engagement. Do not withhold these; we truly need your support to keep moving forward. Furthermore, please avoid following or interacting with any Instagram accounts that operate under our name without authorization. These are not official Congress 60 pages. Do not engage with them; instead, come to our official pages and participate there. It was very good that our members spoke up openly today. I see how much they are disheartened when, for instance, we have two and a half million views a month, yet only two thousand likes. This is not our culture; this is not the unity of Congress 60. It is a duty for every member of Congress 60 to visit our sites and social media pages—whether Persian or English—and be active there.
Currently, our website does not always appear at the very top when you search for ‘Congress 60’ or ‘addiction cure.’ For seven or eight years, whenever someone searched for ‘Congress 60,’ it would first open the English page, and users had to navigate from there to the Persian site. This caused our Persian site’s ranking to drop among Persian speakers; it lost its top position. We fixed this two or three years ago. Now, when you open the site, it goes directly to the Persian version, where you can then switch to English. That is the only reason our website is not at the very top right now; otherwise, we have always held the top spot in search rankings.
[After several members of the Persian website and Instagram teams expressed their thoughts and sentiments, Mr. Dezhakam added the following points:]
Once the comments section is enabled, if someone posts a negative remark, under no circumstances should you reply. For instance, if someone writes, ‘Mr. Dezhakam is bad,’ no one should feel the need to say, ‘No, he is good,’ or even acknowledge the comment. Ignore it completely; do not speak of it; do not say a single word. Because as soon as you try to defend me, the game begins. It sparks a conflict—sides are taken, and the conflict escalates. Even if they attack Congress 60, there is no need to argue that it is good. Ignore it entirely, as if you never saw it. If you do this, negative (destructive) forces cannot take hold; if you reply, they will. Consider the Taliban: they would plant a bomb, and news agencies would broadcast it; that is how they gained notoriety. If no news agency had covered it, they might not have been noticed at all. Of course, that is just an example, but the principle stands: do not feed the conflict. Do not engage with negativity; it is best to provide no response at all. As the old saying goes, ‘Silence is the answer to fools; do not argue with the ignorant.’ Keep this in mind when the comments are reopened.
Regarding my correspondence with Mr. William L. White: you may have noticed it has been appearing less frequently on the website, or with delays. This is because Mr. William has been ill. He was battling multiple conditions, including a brain tumor, and was seriously unwell. He was undergoing chemotherapy, and there was nothing I could do to help. I advised him to use OT if he could access it there, but he said he could not. Had he been able to access it, it would have been immensely helpful. He endured great suffering; he underwent chemotherapy for at least two months and was unable to even speak. Throughout this time, I continued writing to him every week, but I refrained from posting our correspondence on the website; I did not want the members to be distressed. Thankfully, he has finished his chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and his condition is much better. Thus, we have resumed our correspondence.
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) has a book known as the Big Book, which is associated with the late Bill Wilson, one of the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Inspired by the Big Book, Mr. William wrote the Little Book, which compiles key concepts from my articles and lectures. The book states that gratitude must be expressed through the heart, words, and actions. To put this into practice, while William was in the hospital, his friends and colleagues organized a schedule. Under this arrangement, one of them would write him a letter of appreciation every day. Sixty or seventy people participated. They followed our culture of gratitude perfectly. However, I told them, ‘This is merely the verbal part; you must also take action.’ I also advised them to send William a gift along with their words. I told them that an example of this is the gifts I have given Mr. William over the years. You should do the same for one another.
This culture of gratitude is truly beautiful. It is an invaluable practice that teaches us to express our appreciation to those who serve us—our loved ones, brothers, sisters, spouses, children, parents, our Guides, and everyone else. This practice is crucial. I provided this context to clarify that the recent absence of our correspondence on the website was strictly due to Mr. William’s illness. Thank you.
