The second session of the 88th course of Congress 60’s educational workshops, specifically for Travelers and Companions, was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2026, with the agenda “The Eighth Valley and Its Effect on Me,” with Mr. Hossein Dezhakam serving as both the guest speaker and session guardian, and Traveler Mohammad Hossein serving as secretary.
Hello, friends. I am Hossein, a Traveler.
I hope everyone is doing well. Thank God, I am doing well too. My leg hurts a little, but I am having it treated medically, so hopefully it will get better as well. It is 10:05, and we are here at the Simorgh Building in Tehran. Today is October 1, which means autumn has begun. Before we know it, autumn will be over too, and we will be entering winter.
Well, there are a few points I want to mention to you, and then we will get to our main topic.
One issue is that OT is facing some problems at the moment. We all know this, and this is not something limited to us; problems have arisen throughout the entire system as a result of the war and the issues that we are all aware of.
Therefore, the Guides need to be very strong and firm.
I mean, was I treated with OT?! I was treated with opium.
Were all the Watchers treated with OT? No! All of them were treated with opium.
Look at all the old Watchers. The main pillars of Congress 60 were all treated with opium, not OT.
So don't start taking it easy and saying, “Well, this isn't going to work,” or “This is too difficult.”
No. A war without casualties and bloodshed makes no sense. With a change in circumstances, it simply turns into a different kind of battlefield.
If I, as the guardian of Congress 60, give in here and do not have faith, then you will also lose your faith in OT. You will start saying, “No, it doesn't work,” and this and that.
It doesn't matter.
You smoked opium for thirty years. Where did you get it from? You used opium for thirty years! Now, for eight or nine months, you are following the treatment process for your own recovery.
So the Guides need to be very firm and strong.
Some of the kids have learned this very well. They are doing an excellent job, they have made very good progress, and they have shown very good acceptance.
So, on this matter, all the Guides need to take a firm approach. If you are lenient about it, your pupils will also respond in a weak and hesitant way.
The same applies to the Companions and to your Travelers.
We are once again doing everything we can and making every effort to resolve this situation. The government is also making efforts, and the headquarters is making its own efforts to get things back on track. They will be resolved, and the situation in the cities has also improved.
In any case, be very firm, strong, and determined about this matter, because it is important.
Another point is this: at all Congress 60 centers, whenever you want to invite government officials to attend a session, you must coordinate with the liaison Watcher so that the program is conducted in a manner befitting those officials.
In other words, no Traveler and no Agent—whether a female Agent or a male Agent—can invite government officials to Congress without prior coordination.
They need to inform the relevant people and coordinate everything so that when these officials arrive, they are properly received and welcomed, given time to speak, if necessary, and any other arrangements that are needed are taken care of.
So keep this in mind as well: none of you may invite officials from outside Congress to a Congress 60 center without coordinating with the liaison Watcher.
Then, of course, everything needs to be arranged in a manner befitting everyone. This is another important point.
Another point concerns being overweight.
The Guides who were overweight have had their Legions closed. The term of service for a Guide is four years.
So, for example, a Guide's Legion may have been closed for six months because of that Guide's weight. Then, once the Guide brings their weight back to a healthy level, their Legion can be reopened.
The period during which their Legion was closed will then be added to their term of service.
For example, if a Guide's Legion was closed for six months and they have now reached a healthy weight, their four-year term of service becomes four years and six months. That way, they do not lose that period of service, God forbid.
This policy is also in effect, so everyone needs to pay attention to this issue.
Because being overweight is now a very, very serious matter.
Sometimes I look at people when they receive their Liberation certificates, and for some of them, as many as seventeen or eighteen health problems have been resolved.
I mean, how is it possible for someone to lose thirty kilograms and for absolutely nothing to change in their health or well-being?
It would be like someone carrying three sacks of rice on their head, and then taking those three sacks off—and nothing else changes!
I used to say that if losing that much weight has had no effect on someone, they cannot become a Guide, because it has not had an effect on them.
Therefore, because they have not experienced those changes themselves, they cannot transfer that knowledge and the experience of their own struggles to their pupils.
If someone loses thirty kilograms and nothing happens, then when their pupil comes to them and says, “I have such-and-such a health problem,” the Guide will say, “Well, I didn't have that problem.”
And that is precisely why we cannot appoint such a person as a Guide.
So, please make sure that these reports are written completely and accurately.
That is another point.
When announcing your journey toward Liberation, you must mention the word OT.
You absolutely have to say OT.
Under all circumstances, we need to use the word OT when announcing our journey toward Liberation.
In general, Congress 60 is continuing on its path. Our research work is fully underway.
Even on the 29th of this month at the Congress of Addiction Science—I mentioned this before—I have said that they must include a program on OT, where all the officials and physicians are present and can speak about OT, so that the issue can be brought into the spotlight, challenged, and discussed.
Well, today’s agenda is also “The Eighth Valley.”
At the same time, Congress 60 is continuing on its path. Our research work is underway, and we are making the progress we need to make. We have five papers that we hope will be published today or tomorrow. They have already been accepted, and all five are related to addiction.
As I mentioned last time, one of them is about fentanyl. There is no fentanyl in the country, but we conducted our experiments on it. We will see how the matter develops further.
There is also one on amphetamine and one on opium. There was also one on heroin, which has already been completed and now needs to become a paper. Later, there will also be one on alcohol, which will be dealt with in due course. These are for an international psychiatry journal in the United States.
Today, publishing a paper in the United States is extremely, extremely difficult. And right now, Congress 60 is at the forefront of this effort, working to have all of its papers published in a major international journal. This is very significant.
I am waiting for these papers to be published as soon as possible.
Today’s agenda is: “With movement, the way reveals itself.”
Until we move, our thoughts have not been turned into action.
We have a series of thoughts and ideas. These thoughts and ideas have to be turned into action. Until they are put into practice, they have no real value.
Because there are three stages.
The first stage is when there is nothing at all.
The second stage is thinking about it.
The third stage is taking action.
So whatever we think about, we have to turn it into action.
But when we want to turn something into action, we first have to determine whether it is actually going to work or not.
We should not act based on our feelings.
If we act based on emotion, or simply because someone says, “This is a really good thing; let's do it,” then we have already set ourselves up for failure.
I have made these kinds of decisions many times myself, and I suffered losses that were impossible to make up for, because I did not think deeply enough and acted based on emotion.
Of course, those experiences became lessons for me.
Someone would say, “Such-and-such is a good thing.” I would go and do it, and afterward I would see how much I had lost.
Someone said, “You should manufacture such-and-such household appliances. It is a very good business.”
So we went ahead and produced several thousand of them, only to realize that, no, it was not.
Whatever we did, we ended up losing money, because there was no foundation, no solid basis behind it. It was based on emotion. It was based on illusion.
Illusion and action are two different things.
Therefore, when we want to make a move, we need to have thought it through completely. We need to have examined all aspects of it.
I developed a medical problem and went to see a specialist. The specialist was excellent—highly qualified and very good. I trusted him completely.
But I thought, “All right, now I should go to other specialists as well and see whether they confirm what he has told me.”
So I checked it again elsewhere. Then I saw that, yes, the specialist I had spoken to was right. What he had said was correct.
That is how you should test things before you make a move.
Now, when we begin moving, some things can be predicted and some things cannot.
But once you start moving, the way reveals itself.
Suppose you want to go toward Chalus. You set off, and the road itself begins to reveal the way.
When you reach a turn, the road tells you, “Turn left.”
The road tells you, “There is a tunnel ahead.”
The road tells you, “This is a downhill stretch.”
The road itself tells you, “There is a cliff here.”
The road tells you, “The road is icy and slippery.”
With movement, the way reveals itself.
You keep moving and you reach the mountains. Then you reach the plains, the open countryside, the desert.
The road reveals itself to you.
So when we want to move forward, we should not say, “No, I will only start when every single detail has been worked out.”
That is never possible.
We have to make the move, do what we need to do, and then review and adjust our plans along the way.
And while I am speaking, please do not keep yourselves occupied with your mobile phones. Pay attention to what I am saying.
Well, I will read a passage from the Eighth Valley:
“With movement, the way reveals itself. Waves descend upon the earth like whirlwinds, carrying away with them whatever can be gathered, entrusted to them. And this comes about only by command. Therefore, you who make a covenant, keep in mind that you must rise from the earth and journey toward the place where the command lies. In stillness, nothing comes into being.”
“In stillness, nothing comes into being.”
Stillness has two aspects.
One kind is simply doing nothing. But when you enter into thought, that itself is a kind of movement.
In other words, we have moved from stillness into thought.
That movement is not visible in the outside world. It is happening in the inner world.
Movement in the inner world is one kind of movement, and movement in the outer world is the next kind.
So first there is stillness.
For example, suppose we want to go to Azerbaijan. At first, we are not thinking about it at all.
When you first decide that you want to go to Azerbaijan, you begin in silence. In that silence, you have to think. You have to determine the route.
Once you have determined the route, that is when the process begins.
In stillness, nothing comes into being.
Think through everything. Draw up all the plans.
Imagine you are going to build a twenty-story building. You can draw the entire plan—the columns, their load-bearing capacity, the utilities, the paint, and every other detail.
But until you dig the foundation, nothing happens.
Absolutely nothing happens.
The process begins when you dig the foundation.
That is when movement begins.
In stillness, nothing comes into being. There is no birth, no creation, no production in stillness.
Even trees are dormant in stillness.
With the changing seasons, trees begin to bud, grow leaves, bear fruit, and so on.
Everything takes shape through movement.
Everything takes shape through movement, and then structures emerge.
Everything takes shape through movement.

Once a desire has taken shape, structures begin to emerge. In other words, once the roadmap comes into existence, living beings are created through movement.
Plants, animals, and human beings—all of them come into existence through movement.
Even inanimate matter takes shape through movement.
At first, there is nothing. Then the primary elements—oxygen and so on—appear. They take the form of gases. Then the gases move and circulate, producing heat, and eventually they transform into solid matter.
And what is interesting is that everything also has an antidote.
In other words, God has placed something alongside everything.
Human beings exist, and alongside human beings, there are also dangers: addiction, unreasonable desires, and all kinds of illnesses.
When the body becomes weak, diseases begin to flare up.
For example, cancer cells exist in all of us. There is no one who does not have cancerous cells in their body.
But because the immune system is strong, it continually suppresses these cancer cells.
The moment the body becomes weak and the immune system becomes weakened, the cancer cells take hold and begin to spread. They metastasize, develop angiogenesis and new blood vessels, and then metastasize further, eventually forming multiple tumors.
So, danger is always lying in wait for a human being.
Animals are the same way.

The moment an animal becomes weak, it becomes vulnerable to attack by other animals.
“Go, become strong, if you are determined to live,
For in the order of nature, the weak are trampled underfoot.”
This is one of the most beautiful poems ever written, and it is exactly the truth.
The moment something becomes weak, microbes attack it.
Now, we might say that the body has the upper hand over microbes, but then it develops tuberculosis, cancer, or a thousand other illnesses. Animals are the same.
When a lion attacks, it goes after the weakest animal.
This is how the system of creation works. Animals that are weak are taken out because they carry weaker genes, so that when they reproduce, they do not produce offspring that are severely deficient.
Plants are the same.
The moment a plant becomes weak, microbes and pests attack it.
What are these pests?
For a walnut tree, for example, it may be the wood-boring insect. For a grapevine, it may be a particular type of pest.
As soon as a tree becomes weak, it is immediately attacked. Its tissues become weakened, and once they become weak, all kinds of insects and worms enter the tree and destroy it. Little by little, the tree's leaves dry out, and eventually the tree dies.
So they, too, have a destructive system. These animals and organisms come along and weaken the tree. When these insects and worms attack a walnut tree and the tree becomes weak, the tree eventually has to die.
Inanimate matter is the same way.
What do we mean by inanimate matter?
When solid bodies come into existence—when planets come into existence, or when a sun comes into existence—and they become weak, their energy runs out and their fuel is exhausted, they collapse.
And once they collapse, a black hole absorbs them.
In other words, within the system of galaxies, black holes destroy and pull in whatever planet or star has become weak. They draw it into themselves.
So you can see that in this movement, any system that becomes weak comes under attack.
Whether it is a human being, a solid body, an animal, or a plant, it makes no difference.
So there is always danger lurking around us.
When structures emerge, living beings are created, and the journey through the cycles of creation begins and continues.
They are created, but their journey begins and continues.
As we move along this path, we have to think carefully about every action and determine whether what we are doing is right or wrong.
For example, when you want to invest money, the first thing you have to do is think about whether the investment is actually sound.
When you want to make an investment, there is something called greed.
Greed is a very dangerous thing—it has a nasty bite, as they say, like the “tooth of greed.”
People who become greedy run into trouble.
In the past, many people invested in pyramid schemes and lost their entire capital. Even I myself, in the beginning, did not know much about them and I got taken in. It had become widespread before people learned from the experience.
Today, there are many people trading gold on certain websites where there is no actual gold. It exists only on paper and in words. No physical commodity changes hands.
Eventually, they run into problems because there is no gold there.
There are also companies that take people's money and promise returns of thirty percent, or even sixty percent.
Well, that is greed, isn't it?
Someone goes in because of the promise of those returns, and after a while, they lose their money.
These are the kinds of things we need to pay attention to during this journey—the journey through the cycles of creation.
Once the journey through the cycles of creation begins, this is where we need to think carefully before every move we make, so that we do not come under attack.
There is always danger lurking.
Whatever you want to do, there is always something waiting to take advantage of you.
If you want to invest, there are people waiting to take your money. They may use all kinds of titles and promises to get your money and destroy your capital.
That is why, before doing anything, you have to think it through carefully.
The journey through the cycles of creation continues. “On this journey, for human beings, thoughts are the architects of structures.” Our thoughts are the architects of structures. In other words, we think about what kind of structure we want to build and how we want to create it. Everything has a structure.
Along this path, our thoughts are the architects that shape structures. They determine what that structure should look like. They ask: Should I do this or not? How should I do it? For example, someone says, “This is a highly profitable investment.” Is that really true, or is it not? What situation is it in? What exactly are they trying to do? We have to carry out the necessary research. If we investigate properly, we are much less likely to end up facing failure.
If you want to treat addiction, you have to investigate what methods are available and what paths you can take.
If you want to lose weight, look at these injections that are administered around the navel—Mounjaro injections, for example. What kind of research and development went into them? They cost 14 million, 17 million, and so on. What dangerous effects might they have? Interestingly, even some of our dear specialist doctors sometimes use these same injections.
In other words, nobody stops to think that, when it comes to weight loss, the structure of the body matters. Your body needs food and energy. The body has a structure; billions of cells need nourishment and raw materials. But no—they say, “This will suppress my appetite.” Once your appetite is suppressed, your body does not receive enough energy, and you can face many problems. Your hair may start falling out, your bones may become weak, your nails may become brittle and cracked, your complexion may deteriorate, and your muscle mass may decrease.
Before you do something, go and investigate it.
Someone might say, “No, many specialists talk about these things in the media and on television.” They may be doing so because of money and other interests.
Consider diabetes medication and insulin. These are used for people with diabetes. When you use insulin, your blood sugar may remain normal for seven or eight hours, and then you need another injection. Weight-loss injections work in a similar way. People pay 17 or 18 million, and their weight goes down. But when they stop taking the injections, the weight comes back—sometimes even more than before—because they have not thought about the underlying structure.
Our thoughts are the architects of structures. They may have created a bad structure; they have become the architect who designs the plan, but they have designed a bad plan. They have chosen the wrong path, made a bad investment, or chosen the wrong friend. All of these things have to be examined. Put them to the test.
For example, when it comes to a partnership, test it. There is a saying: “Die for someone who will at least get a fever for you.” Test it. If you don’t test things, you won’t reach a conclusion.
“So, thoughts are the architects of structures, the speakers, and the ones that determine the direction of movement.” In other words, thoughts determine everything.
This means that in Congress 60, there is one thing that is enough for all of us: the First Valley. If we learn the First Valley, once we truly understand it, this one Valley is enough for all of us. In other words, if all of us resolve the First Valley, learn how to think, and truly reach the essence of the First Valley, we no longer need the other thirteen Valleys, because structures begin with thought.
“Once upon a time, in the heavens, in the presence of the new creation, or human beings, which had been brought into existence by the Absolute Power, one of the angels, or one of the high-ranking commanders who had received the favor of the Absolute Power, rose in rebellion and disobeyed the command. Perhaps the Absolute Power had destined it to happen this way.”
We don’t want to get into that story or the whole issue of how Satan came into being.
In the Eighth Valley, we said that with movement, the way reveals itself. We have to make amends. The first thing we need to do when we begin moving forward is to make amends.
Why do we have to make amends? Because we have caused harm through some of our mistakes. Whom have we harmed? Ourselves, our own families, and our society.
When you get into a car accident, they come and ask, “Who is at fault?” They tell the person responsible, “You made a mistake. You hit someone else’s car and damaged it, and you have to pay for the damage.” Whether the insurance company pays or someone else does, the damage has to be compensated.
Therefore, when we reach the stage of awakening, when we reach the stage of awareness, we have to make amends. Until now, we were not aware. We were using substances, all kinds of things were happening, and we considered ourselves to be in the right. We even thought we were the ones who were owed something. But now we look at things and realize that we are also the ones who owe a debt.
Who do we owe first? Ourselves.

Every human being first owes a debt to themselves, because they have harmed themselves and inflicted damage upon themselves.
When you are thirty kilograms overweight, it means you have harmed yourself. You have caused damage to yourself, and you need to make amends. Being thirty kilograms overweight is like carrying three ten-kilogram sacks of rice on your shoulders and head. It weighs you down completely. But you make amends.
If you smoke, you must first make amends to yourself. Of course, what does making amends to yourself mean for someone who is overweight? It means reaching a healthy, appropriate weight.
For someone who smokes cigarettes or hookah, what does making amends mean? It means putting aside cigarettes and hookah and treating the problem. If someone uses drugs or alcohol, they need to put them aside and undergo treatment. If someone gambles, they need to stop gambling and address the problem. There are many other relationships and behaviors that need to be corrected as well.
If you have been taking bribes, you should try to make amends for that, too, along with many other things.
And this is the same as returning. This is the first form of making amends: starting with yourself. The cleansing has to begin with yourself.
We cannot become teachers to everyone else while failing to cleanse ourselves. Imagine someone who is forty kilograms overweight trying to teach other people how to lose weight, or someone who uses heroin every day trying to teach others how to treat heroin addiction.
We have had many people who were themselves opium users but claimed to treat other people’s addiction. They would even carry out the treatment right there beside the opium pipe. Their friends would be sitting around the pipe, and the person would say, “I’ll get you off drugs in one week. Do this and this and this,” and then write out a one-week prescription.
As the saying goes:
“If you were a physician, you would first have treated yourself.”
So the first amends are to yourself.
And what are the second amends? They are to your family.
You have to make amends to your family. You have harmed them and caused them pain, and you need to make up for it. For example, you should provide them with a reasonable level of comfort and well-being. If you have damaged their reputation and dignity, you have to make amends for that as well.
So the family comes next.
These amends also have to be made. And the next level is society and the community.
You have harmed society as well.
Someone might say, “What harm have I done to society?”
You studied and became an engineer. You studied and became a doctor. You became a pilot. How long did it take you to become an engineer? How long did it take you to become a pilot? How long did it take you to become a doctor? How long did it take you to become a physicist?
And now, through addiction, you have destroyed all of that.
It took eighteen years. Society helped bring you to that point, and you benefited from the resources and opportunities provided by society. So, you have to make amends.
Perhaps you cannot make amends directly. In that case, we have to serve society.
If we have harmed society, we should serve society. If we have harmed our family, we should serve our family. If we have hurt our friends, we should make amends to them.
So this is our Eighth Valley: “With movement, the way reveals itself.”
And when we want to begin moving, we should carefully examine the path and do our research before we set out. Then, as we continue along the way, some things will reveal themselves on their own.
Thank you all very much for paying attention to what I have said.
