Interview: Maintaining Balance at All Times Is the Most Difficult Task

When the Traveler fulfills their responsibilities—for example, transcribing audio files on time and attending the Legion regularly and punctually—this crying is a sign that a suppressed emotion or pain that has been held in their chest is beginning to be released.

Interview: Maintaining Balance at All Times Is the Most Difficult Task

Maintaining Balance at All Times Is the Most Difficult Task

We have conducted an interview with the esteemed Watchman and successor to the Founder of Congress 60, Mr. Amin Dezhakam, so that we can benefit from his experiences and his sincere service. We are pleased to share this interview with you below.
Question:
Please explain, if we are responsible for a particular section and notice the darkness of power in certain individuals, how should we deal with it in a way that does not harm their sense?
Dr. Amin Dezhakam:
If you are responsible for a particular section, this darkness of power may occur in people under your supervision or among members of your group. If this issue arises in members of the group, it can be resolved through proper education, firmness, discipline, and love.
However, if it concerns people in positions of responsibility who work with you, you should first wait for a while and make sure that your assessment is actually correct. Once you are certain that the person has a power-related issue, the first step is to make the matter clear to them through conversation and education.
Then, by guiding them and using the relevant CDs, you should handle the situation with the utmost subtlety and care, so that their personality is not crushed and they do not become defensive.
First, the person's sense needs to be calmed so that they can reach the correct understanding and the right sense. Then, you can point them in the right direction. Because people will accept criticism when they realize that there is something beneficial and well-intentioned behind it.
Question:
Considering Mr. Dezhakam’s emphasis on valuing even our smallest successes and encouraging ourselves, how should we do this without allowing that encouragement to create ego in us?
Dr. Amin Dezhakam:
Maintaining balance at all times is one of the most difficult things. What Mr. Dezhakam has taught us means that sometimes we are simply inattentive to these matters. Generally speaking, ninety percent of people consider their own successes to be insignificant. They have a specific goal in mind, and in their view, until they reach that goal, they should not take anything else into consideration. This very attitude can ultimately lead to their failure.
On the other hand, there are people who move in the opposite direction. They feel a sense of importance and prestige over the smallest accomplishment, and this creates arrogance and a sense of self-importance in them.
If you listen carefully to Mr. Dezhakam’s words, you will learn to acknowledge and remind yourself of the small success you have achieved. But if you lose your balance, you will keep repeating that achievement to other people, and that is when, as the saying goes, you can easily get carried away.
Question:
Please explain what role a Guide can play when a Traveler spends a great deal of time in their mental world and fantasies and continues to be affected by this despite receiving the necessary teachings.
Dr. Amin Dezhakam:
Sometimes Travelers enter a Legion with particular complexities. However, experience usually shows that Travelers join a Legion because of the sense and common ground they share with their Guide.
In such situations, the Guide should first look within themselves and reflect on what happened to them in the past—just as it is expressed in the Third Discourse: “Let me review what has passed over me in this world, so that my lips may open to speak.” Then they should return to their own past and reflect on what they were like at that point in their lives and how they used to think.
First, the Guide needs to receive the Traveler's sense and understand what state they are currently in and what kind of illusions and fantasies they are caught up in. Once the Guide succeeds in receiving the Traveler's sense, they can gradually help the Traveler move out of that state of illusion and fantasy by providing the right teachings, little by little.
At this point, questions should arise in the Traveler's mind so that they can find the answers for themselves and gradually move out of that state.
Another thing that can play an effective role in this process is guiding the Traveler toward activities and experiences at Congress 60 (Fresh Juices). For example, the Guide might suggest swimming for one Traveler, exercise for another, or service for someone else.
We must keep in mind that a Traveler will move out of this state when the Guide's recommendations are correct and actually prove effective.

Question:
What is the role of the Guide in dealing with a Traveler who does not properly carry out their assignments and is constantly present in the Legion in a poor state? And if this person has bipolar disorder, how should the Guide deal with them?
Dr. Amin Dezhakam:
These states in the Legion are signs of an emotional release in the Traveler and are temporary. When the Traveler fulfills their responsibilities—for example, transcribing audio files on time and attending the Legion regularly and punctually—this crying is a sign that a suppressed emotion or pain that has been held in their chest is beginning to be released. This has happened because they have been away from the proper path for many years, and now they have reached a place where they can express their feelings.
When a person has bipolar disorder, even in these circumstances, if they properly carry out their assignments, their condition is not particularly important. However, if the opposite is true, then the necessary firmness should be applied.
