The Damages Caused by Methamphetamine and New Psychoactive Substances, and Their Treatment Through the DST Method

The eighth session of the 87th series of Congress 60 educational workshops for travelers and companions was held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 (Tir 17, 1405). The agenda was “The Damages Caused by Methamphetamine and New Psychoactive Substances, and Their Treatment Through the DST Method.” This session was administered by Dr. Amin Dezhakam—the Worldview Watcher—serving as both the guest speaker and guardian, and Companion Akram served as the session secretary.
Dr. Amin’s speech: Hello friends, I'm Amin, a traveler. Before I begin my remarks, I'd like to invite Babak and Morteza to join us at the front so that Morteza hold his Covenant Ceremony [in Congress 60, each person appointed to a serving position must read and sign a covenant and pledge that they will serve genuinely]. Please come forward.

Hello, friends. I am Babak, a traveler. With Dr. Amin's permission, and with the authorization granted by Mr. Hossein Dezhakam, the Base of Congress 60, I am pleased to introduce Mr. Morteza as the Assistant Watcher for Opium Tincture (OT) serving section. I wish him every success and steadfastness throughout his term of service.

Hello, friends. My name is Morteza, and I am a traveler.
I experienced more than ten years of addiction involving various anti-X substances, with opium extract and psychoactive pills being the last substances I used. I completed a thirteen-month recovery journey using the DST Method, with Opium Tincture as my treatment medication, under the guidance of Mr. Babak Lotfi. My sport in Congress 60 is swimming, and I have now been liberated from both drugs and cigarettes for approximately seven and a half years.
Then Mr. Morteza read and signed his covenant, the text of the covenant is as follows:
In the name of God, the Compassionate, the merciful. I, Morteza Ekhteraei, before the Supreme Power and in the presence of the Watchers, Border-Guards, Travelers, Companions, and the Guardian of Congress 60, solemnly pledge that, for a period of two years from the date of this oath, in my role as an Assistant Watcher, I will faithfully uphold the dignity, principles, and regulations of Congress 60 and treat all members with kindness and respect.
I further pledge as a role model, strive to carry out my responsibilities with integrity and without fault. I will always regard myself as a servant of Congress 60’s members and those who suffer, never as their master or superior. May God accept my service. Amen.
Dr. Amin then began his address.

Well, because this was a special matter that needed to be addressed promptly, we decided to take care of it before beginning today's session. Our topic today is methamphetamine and the damage it causes, isn't it? I have never personally used methamphetamine. Back when I was conducting my research journey, many people encouraged me to try methamphetamine, crack, and other substances I always replied, “No. Using opium and opium extract is more than enough for me. I don't need anything beyond that.” Nevertheless, in the early years of Congress 60, we had many members who had used methamphetamine, so I witnessed the devastating effects of this drug firsthand. [Mr. Amin, who had never used drugs before, voluntarily participated in a research project in which he was instructed to use opium and get addicted. As a result, he developed an addiction, allowing Mr. Hossein Dezhakam to apply the DST method and evaluate its effectiveness in curing addiction. Mr. Amin successfully completed both his recovery journey and the research project and got liberated from addiction. Following this successful outcome, the DST method was accepted and approved as the sole curing method for addiction].
There was a young man who worked with us when we owned and operated a sandwich shop. He had been a methamphetamine user, but his treatment had not been properly completed because this was during the early years of Congress 60, when recovery programs often lasted only three or four months. His treatment was neither long enough nor standardized. He was employed at our shop and was a kind, warm-hearted, and genuinely likable person. Yet, from time to time, he would suddenly do the most unexpected things.

Around noon, our shop would become extremely busy. Between about twelve o'clock and one or one-thirty, we would sometimes serve eighty customers within a very short period. During those one or two hours, we had to prepare around a hundred sandwiches while also fulfilling home deliveries. We were only three persons working there. Then, just as the rush reached its peak, he suddenly became upset, walked out, and disappeared. For the next two hours, the workload that had been shared by three people fell on just two of us. We struggled tremendously, working at an almost impossible pace simply to keep the business running.
At around two o'clock, when the rush had finally subsided and everything had become calm again, he reappeared. I asked him, “Where were you? Why did you disappear? We've been crushed these past two hours!” He replied, “I thought you didn't like me.” (Audience laughter.) I said, “Even if I didn't like you, why did you have to leave right then? You could at least have waited until two o'clock. Those two hours nearly destroyed us!” Because of using methamphetamine, he simply could not perceive the situation or the environment realistically. He was living in an entirely different mental state.
Thank God, one of the remarkable miracles of Congress 60 is that many others, eventually were liberated from addiction using the DST method. In the early days, many people doubted whether such recovery was even possible. They would say that Mr. Dezhakam himself had mainly used opium and opium extract, occasionally hashish and alcohol, but had no personal experience with methamphetamine. Consequently, some individuals questioned whether Mr. Dezhakam could possibly develop an effective treatment for stimulant addiction like methamphetamine. To them, the idea of curing a powerful stimulant such as methamphetamine with an alkaloid-based medication namely “opium” seemed inconceivable. They believed the pharmacological properties were too different and that such a treatment could never work. During the early years of Congress 60, this skepticism was widespread. However, as time passed and the results became undeniable, it became clear that methamphetamine addiction was simply cured using the DST Method.
In Congress 60, curing methamphetamine addiction eventually proved to be even easier to treat than other forms of substance dependence. Why was that? The answer became clear only later. Although methamphetamine is just one of many addictive substances, new drugs continued to emerge over the years—hallucinogenic mushrooms, various synthetic drugs, Buprenorphine (B2) tablets, Norgesic, and many others. At the time, it seemed almost impossible to believe that a single approach could cure addiction to all of them. Many people viewed this claim with considerable skepticism.

The answer emerged in the early 2010s, when Mr. Dezhakam introduced the X Theory and explained the concept of the X System. At that point, the underlying issue became clear. It explained why someone addicted to methamphetamine—or to any new substance that might appear in the future—could recover through the DST Method. Although these substances differ in their chemical composition, they all ultimately produce the same outcome: they disrupt and disable the X System [which is a body system naturally producing opioid-like substances in the body. In addiction, this X system is totally hurt]. Cannabis damages this system, alcohol does this, LSD does this, hallucinogenic mushrooms do this, Buprenorphine does this, Surcheh [an addictive substance mainly used in Southern Iran]  does this, and every other addictive substance does the same. Regardless of their differences, all addictive drugs produce one common effect: they impair the body's X System.
What, then, does the DST Method do? It accomplishes one essential task: it systematically rebuilds and restores the X System from its foundation. That is precisely why any addictive substance—from the beginning of human history until its end—can be cured through the DST Method, provided that its primary effect is to disrupt the X System. And that is exactly what addictive substances do. The X System refers to the body's Khamr, which is opioid-like substances naturally produced in the body.  Therefore, addiction to any substance capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier in the brain, affecting hormones, neurotransmitters, and other biochemical mediators—regardless of its type—can be effectively treated using the DST Method. In fact, the restored system by the DST method often functions even better than it did before addiction developed.
During the 2000s, however, no one could fully explain why this worked. In the 2000’s, Mr. Dezhakam was already implementing the DST Method, and experience consistently showed that people addicted to methamphetamine recovered, heroin users recovered, and individuals dependent on all other substances recovered as well. The results were evident, but the scientific explanation had not yet been articulated. It was only in the following decade 2010s, that Mr. Dezhakam proposed the X Theory, providing a coherent explanation for these observations. That discovery brought tremendous hope.
When we consider this, it is profoundly encouraging that we now have a treatment method capable of addressing dependence on every addictive substance. Moreover, its potential extends beyond addiction. Because many incurable and difficult-to-cure illnesses also involve disruption of the X System, and the DST Method has the potential to cure them as well. This is one of its greatest strengths. If the DST Method had been effective only for opium addiction, its significance would have been far more limited. Its true achievement lies in the fact that it has also proven effective for smoking cessation, weight management, and many other conditions. There may well be additional applications that we have not yet discovered, but as research continues, its broader therapeutic potential may become increasingly evident.
That is all I wanted to say about methamphetamine and the damage it causes. We will now have a participation session during which members can come forward and share their own experiences with methamphetamine, its destructive effects, or any related topic. Thank you all for your attention.
