The 17th International Congress on Addiction Science

The 17th International Congress on Addiction Science, held under the theme "Exploring Innovative Solutions for an Age-Old Problem," took place from February 13 to 15, 2025, at Razi Conference Center, Iran University of Medical Sciences.
The congress was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Taghi Joghataei, with Dr. Seyed Ramin Radfar and Dr. Mohammad Reza Shalbafan serving as scientific secretaries, and Dr. Reza Daneshmand as the executive secretary.
The closing ceremony, held on February 15, 2025, honored distinguished researchers and key figures in the field of addiction science, awarding top papers and groundbreaking research. The event was also streamed live, allowing a wider audience to engage with the discussions.
This congress served as a platform for scientific exchange and collaboration, bringing together over 2,000 participants, including policymakers, government and non-governmental organization (NGO) officials, academics, researchers, students, treatment professionals, and self-help groups.
The program featured specialized panels covering a range of topics, such as addiction prevention strategies, infectious diseases among substance users, game-based interventions for addiction prevention, and the neuroscience of addictive behaviors.
