In the name of Allah
The twelfth session of the third round of the Jones's Legion [Healthy Nutrition Legion] was held at 7:30 PM at the Arghavan Park branch in Neyshabour.
The topic of this week's Legion is the CD "Body Structure 2." In this CD, Mr. Dezhakam shares information with us about understanding and comprehending the body, so that we know how to treat our body, recognize its needs, understand which nutrients and foods are necessary, how much is needed, and when they should be consumed. Anything consumed in small amounts (sparingly), can be a medicine; if it’s used in the right amount, it can be a food; and if consumed excessively, it can become poison—even water! Since our body is healthy and works well based on maintaining balance, and excess or deficiency of anything leads to damage and problems.
A comparison is made between the structure of the body and a residential building in this CD, that helps me better understand and comprehend how my body works. The difference between the structure of our body and a residential building is that, in a building, the foundation usually has a long usage lifespan and, depending on the materials used, it doesn’t require daily reconstruction. Additionally, repairs need external engineers and labor forces.
The body is constantly rebuilding, repairing, and constructing itself at every moment, and it has a vast storage system where daily consumables must be available. If they are not present, the body uses internal reserves. For example, if the body lacks protein during a weight loss process, my face becomes abnormally thin and loses its healthy color because the body draws what it needs from that protein (my face’s muscles), causing damage. In this CD, I’ve learnt that the body requires 102 essential elements that I must be aware of and consume them. If they are absent, the body becomes deficient and prone to diseases and other issues.
From the content of this CD, I realized that many of the foods I had been consuming were not necessary for my body and were only contributing to weight gain, such as excessive consumption of carbohydrates or sugars, which are the main cause of weight gain. On the other hand, I was consuming insufficient amounts of the nutrients my body needed to achieve sustained satiety and maintain a strong and healthy body, such as eggs, dairy, and protein, etc.
