In the name of the Almighty God
The eleventh session of the 85th round of Congress 60 educational workshops for travelers and companions, was held with the guidance and guardianship of Mr. Dezhakam and with Ms. Nilsa serving as the secretary. The agenda for the session was “The Seventh Valley and its effect on me” and it began on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Hello friends, I am Hossein, a traveler.
I hope you are all doing well. I am also well. Today is Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the time is 10:15 a.m. and we are at the Academy branch in Tehran.
You’ve written the agenda as “The Seventh Valley” (shown on the screen) which is what I’ll be discussing today. Always remember: in addition to the Valley number, you should write its title. I just checked, and the title of the Seventh Valley is “The Secret to Discovering the Truth Lies in Two Things.” Wherever the Valley number is mentioned, its title should also be written.
I’d like to share a few points with you. First, the International Congress on Addiction Science started yesterday, and we have a booth there. Our panel is scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Guides from branches and second-journey pupils are welcome to attend. You don’t need to wear a white shirt; in fact, I prefer that you don’t.
To avoid overcrowding, only guides may attend on Friday. This includes DST guides, Newcomers’ guides, Jones guides, Smoking Cessation guides, Marzbans, and Agents, basically all officials. Second-journey or first-journey travelers cannot attend on Friday. First-journey travelers are strictly not permitted. All guides, however, whether DST, Jones, Smoking Cessation, or Newcomers’ guides, are welcome. On Friday, I will be available to issue commands of liberation (recovery) until 9:00 a.m. After that, I may be busy with the exhibition. So, those wishing to be liberated should come very early. I will also arrive early to assist in completing their work.
These are the points related to the exhibition. The agenda there is titled "A New Perspective on the Issue of Addiction." In fact, it's not really a new perspective; it's a review, a reconsideration of the issue of addiction. The talk I will give there is a summary of the presentation I delivered at Boston University, during the Boston Addiction Conference, USA, which was held at Harvard University, Boston. MIT University and Boston University, which is a very large center, hold an annual Addiction Congress, and this will be the third year I participate. I am always invited to speak there as a presenter. This year, I will be speaking on two topics, which have received great interest. What I mean is that while we discuss these subjects domestically, they have been very well received internationally. Fortunately, we are regularly invited from all over the world to participate in various congresses. All of them invite us and state that our airfare, visa, hotel accommodation, and all expenses will be covered by the congresses themselves. However, we don’t have enough time to attend all of them, so we have to choose only a few that are more important. For example, the UK had also invited us to speak on addiction, covering all expenses. However, we only select some of these opportunities that are more important, where we present papers and deliver lectures. This is one of the points I wanted to share with you.
The topic of the previous session was “From Obedience to Command”, so the next point is that we should learn: When you join a Legion, you are a pupil. It is said that first-journey travelers are pupils, but my point is this: even if you are a guide elsewhere, when you enter the Jones Legion, you are a pupil, you are no longer a guide in that setting. Even if you are an Assistant or a Watchman, you are still a pupil when you join the Jones Legion.
The guide of the Jones Legion might be a second-journey traveler, liberated for six months, and may have lost 20–30 kilos, or even 10–15 kilos. Even if you are an experienced guide, when you enter, you must assume the role of a pupil. If you say, "I am a guide, I have 40 pupils, I’ve guided 100 people to liberation," put all these aside. If you don’t, you will not truly be cured (overweight or underweight cure).
I don’t really have a better example than this; I’ve always used it, and maybe it’s not even the best one: Back in the day, when you went to a public bath, you had to take off your clothes and wrap a simple cloth, like a loincloth, around your waist. It didn’t matter if they were a high-ranking military officer, a colonel, a cleric, a priest, or anyone else, inside the bath, they had to wear only a loincloth. If someone wanted to enter the bath wearing a colonel’s or general’s uniform, they wouldn’t get washed. If they actually wanted to get clean, they had to tie on the loincloth, only then could they be washed. Similarly, when you enter a Legion as a pupil, you must go through the apprenticeship. Don’t want to? Then don’t join. Jones Legion guides should act like teachers, with discipline! If a pupil starts losing weight and then drops out for three or four weeks, remove them from the Legion. Tell them, “I’m sorry, I cannot keep you here.” This process must be taken seriously, if not, it will not yield results. When you are a guide, whether in the Jones Legion, as an Orange Scarf (DST) guide, or a Pistachio Green Scarf (Newcomers) guide, be firm. Do not compromise discipline out of politeness. Guides must act like teachers, maintaining discipline. If a pupil stops following the program or is repeatedly absent, remove them from the Legion. Your pupil can be anyone, but in the role of a pupil, they must follow the rules.
Look, everything has to stay within moderation. When it goes beyond that, it’s no good anymore. We exercise to keep ourselves busy and healthy, not to become champions! Some guides even take their pupils to the gym, for example, to train for football matches so their branch can place first or second, or maybe win first place across Congress 60. That’s really the wrong mindset. Let’s say someone comes to Congress 60 on Saturday, then again on Monday and Wednesday, and on Fridays they’re at Taleghani Park, or one of the other parks. So, when are they supposed to have time for their home and family? Saturday they’re at Congress 60, Sunday at the gym for football or volleyball, Monday back again, Tuesday more football, Wednesday Congress 60 once more, Thursday football again, that’s just not right!
Going to gyms is completely prohibited for the guys, for all members of Congress 60. That means in every city and everywhere, going to the gym to play soccer, volleyball, or to work out is forbidden, because it causes families to complain. For example, in Qom branch some members go to the gym. Their families see that their loved one is always either at the Congress 60 or at the gym. So, when are they supposed to attend to their home and family life?
Don’t go to extremes. Don’t sacrifice everything for something else. Congress 60 is great, but family is more important. You can’t sacrifice your family for Congress 60, not your studies, and not even your work. You have to keep that balance for yourself, and make sure you protect it. I told Mr. Hakimi to follow up on this, we don’t have any gyms or clubs anywhere for sports competitions. If you win, great. If you don’t, no problem, it’s not like we’re talking about the Olympics or a world championship! Even world championships aren’t that big of a deal. Someone wins first place, there’s some cheering and noise, and then it’s all over. After that, you still have to run around for your everyday life, buying bread, going to work, earning your living. It’s nothing to get too excited about. Sure, being a champion is nice, it matters, but it’s really not worth that much. That’s for world championships, let alone for competitions in Congress 60! You drop everything in your life just so your team can come first at Congress 60? Even if they do, so what?
We’re winners simply because we’re here. You’re winners because you come and exercise on Fridays, because you take part. You’re a winner because you wake up at four or five in the morning and come to the park to exercise. Before, you’d sleep until noon or even two in the afternoon. But here, you’re a winner, not because you come in first or second in competitions. That’s another thing to remember.
The next topic is the Seventh Valley: “The secret to discovering the truth lies in two things.”
Before doing anything, we need to think it through, find the right path, and see which way is best.
In the mornings, I go for a short walk and exercise for about forty-five minutes to an hour. On even days, I also go swimming.
This morning, I got up, packed my gym bag, and told Amin to come along so we could work out together.
As I was walking, I thought, “If I go exercise now, since Congress 60 was closed on Monday, there’ll be a lot of liberations today. If I go, I won’t make it to the liberations, and people will be left waiting.” So right there, I decided to cancel my workout.
Amin said, “Should we go?” I said, “No, my son, I think it’ll be really busy today. Let’s go take care of people’s work.”
So I changed the plan, because discovering the truth was about doing the work.
Even now, as I’m speaking, although I came early and started giving liberations myself, Amin is still upstairs giving liberations, still busy with it.
This kind of thinking should guide us in everything we do. Whatever you want to do, look for the right way, think it through, and see whether it’ll lead to a result or not.

Even now, as I am speaking, although I came early in the morning and began issuing the command of liberation, Amin is still upstairs issuing the command of liberation and is still engaged in it. This means we should apply this way of thinking in everything we do. Whatever you want to do, you need to figure out how to do it, think it through, and see whether it will work or not.
The mystery of addiction treatment remained unsolved for thousands of years.
Many believed that addiction was just a behavioral disorder, that the person was emotionally unstable, behaved badly, wanted to get high, was selfish and self-centered, cared little for others, and used drugs only to enjoy themselves. Most people in society, families, communities, even many of our specialists, used to think this way. They said, “Addiction has no cure,” just like so many other illnesses.
But the truth is, you must first find the key. Once you find the key, then you can uncover the secret. Everything in life has a secret, but to reach it, you must first discover its key.
It’s like a safe: it has a code. Inside the safe lies a secret. What’s the code? Maybe something like 2445AB2. You must first find that code, that’s the key. Once you enter it, the safe opens, and inside you find its treasures, gold, jewels, documents, the very thing you were looking for.
So, whatever it is you seek, the first step is always to find the key.
Let’s say you want to go to Tabriz. What’s the key? The key is knowing where the road to Tabriz is. Is it toward the north? Or the west? That’s one part of the key.
The next part is to know where you are. Suppose you want to go to Qazvin, and you’re in Tehran, then you must head north. But if you’re in Zanjan, you might have to go east or south. So, where do you stand right now? That’s very important, you must always find that key.
The same applies to people. You have to find what makes each person tick, that’s their key. Some people are easy to read, and you can find their key quickly. Others are more complicated; their key is harder to discover. Every person and everything in life has a key, a code you need to unlock.
If you can find people’s code, you’ll get along with them easily. You won’t argue with them, you won’t get upset, and you won’t dislike them. You won’t get caught up in unnecessary conflicts.
But to discover their code, your level of understanding must rise. Your awareness must grow. Just talking won’t get you there, nothing happens through talk alone.
If you want to gain real awareness, you must experience things. You must live, observe, and learn.
When you reach that level of understanding, you won’t dislike anyone. You won’t judge people or separate them into groups.
In the CD “Nothing,” I mentioned two schools of thought. One group were the Peripatetics, those who spoke through reasoning, logic, and evidence, like Avicenna, Farabi, and others. The other group were the Eliminationists, spiritual thinkers who spoke through inner light and intuition. In other words, one group relied on the outer senses, while the other drew from the inner ones. These two paths often seemed to oppose each other, but when you reach true awareness, you realize there’s no conflict at all, they’re two sides of the same truth. Both are valid and both are necessary. Some things in the universe are built on logic and reason, while others are based on spirituality. They complete one another; they’re not enemies.
This comes from true understanding. When you understand, you no longer divide things. You no longer take sides. When you truly know what human nature is made of, ideologies like liberalism, communism, or socialism stop mattering to you, none of them are complete on their own. To say everything lies in communism is wrong. To say everything lies in socialism is wrong. And to say everything lies in liberalism is meaningless.
You need to understand that each of them is only one part of a much larger whole. Once you know this, you won’t feel hostility toward any of them. You won’t fight this one or that one, because you’ll realize that all of them are pieces of the same puzzle.
And human beings are the same. Every person is a piece of that puzzle. Each of us has certain qualities that must be discovered, and finding them, that’s the real key.
When a person acts out of ignorance, they’re really destroying themselves.
Someone who keeps lying is like a person sitting on a tree branch and sawing it off from the trunk, in the end, they’ll be the one to fall.
The one who gossips or meddles in others’ affairs is doing the same thing, sitting on a branch and cutting it from the very place they’re sitting.
So, you see, anyone who acts in ignorance is actually harming themselves through their own deeds and behavior. Someone who keeps gossiping slowly becomes known in society as a nosy, shallow, dishonest, and two-faced person.
As for liars, the Holy Quran says: “Woe to those who lie, woe to the liars.”
In society, it doesn’t take long for people to realize who’s lying, no matter who they are, everyone eventually says, “That person’s a liar.”
In the old days, they used to say, “A liar is an enemy of God.” No liar ever succeeds in the end, sooner or later, their secrets will come out.
So, you feel sorry for that person. When they lie, gossip, pry into others’ lives, act corruptly, take bribes, hoard, or do any wrong deed, they’re only ruining themselves. You don’t hate them; you just feel sorry for them.
Because every person and every action have its own key and its own secret.
So, for every issue, we first need to find its key, as we did for addiction, and the same goes for obesity.
Today, I liberated around 17–18 people from obesity, nearly 30 from smoking, and up to 103 from drug addiction. These 103 liberations were over Saturday, Monday, and today, all because we found the key and the secret.
Meanwhile, the government takes 400 people into rehab camps, feeds them for six months, but once they leave, most go back to using. Here, sometimes we liberate 400 people in just two or three weeks, sometimes 200 per week, and that’s not even counting Fridays. This proves that we have found the solution.
We’ve found the key to obesity. For thousands of years, people thought obesity came from overeating. We say no, obesity is not from eating too much, it’s from not knowing how to eat properly. We’ve found the key and we are applying it.
Today, 18 or 19 people were liberated. A woman came to me with her baby, she’s from the Jones Legion. She might even be here in the hall right now. She said, “God gave us this baby because I lost weight.”
So, you see, if weight loss is done correctly, many illnesses can improve. But if done wrongly, many problems get worse. When a woman has a physiological condition and also follows an incorrect diet without knowledge, she deprives her body of essential nutrients. This harms her and multiplies her health problems.
So now, having found the key and secret, many people are losing weight successfully. I believe that soon, maybe within a few years, the Jones Legions could even surpass the DST Legions. One of humanity’s main problems is obesity, the second is drug addiction, and the third is cancer. We’ve found solutions for all three and are putting them into practice.
The key and secret to discovering the truth lie in two things: first, finding the path, and second, what you take from it. You open the safe, how much of the jewels inside do you take? How much are you allowed to take? That’s the issue.
The secret to curing obesity is eating properly, but the question is, how much do you actually practice it? The secret to curing addiction is the DST method and the DOD triangle. How much of it do you actually apply?
This is what defines our situation. The Valleys give us solutions to act, not just to write a thousand times: “I must lose weight, I must lose weight,” or “I won’t eat anymore, I’ll eat less, I’ll eat less.” Those are the kinds of methods some people recommend. No, we must find the solution ourselves and put it into practice.
It is said in the Holy Quran: “There will come a day when no soul can bear the burden of another.” Many think this only refers to the Day of Judgment, when no one can carry the sins of another. But in reality, it applies to today as well. No one can bear the struggle of an addict trying to quit. No one can endure the pain and suffering of a lover; each must bear it themselves. No one can take on the pain of someone with an incurable illness, it must be endured by the person experiencing it.
This isn’t only about the Hereafter; it is happening now. Imagine someone with cancer, suffering greatly, say, your own mother. Can you take her burden from her? No, you cannot. So, this truth exists now, in the present, not just in the Day of Judgment. For our burdens to be lifted, we must find the right way. And God willing, the Almighty will help us discover it.
So, my point is this: whatever we plan to do, we must first reflect. Even for the simplest actions, we should ask ourselves: which choice leads to goodness, and which brings true benefit?
At the beginning of this session, I thought about going to the pool. I could have said to myself, “I’ll go and enjoy myself.” But no! It said: “Not today. You can always go to the pool, but today, exceptionally, don’t, because it might completely disrupt the plans.”
God willing, may we all learn to reflect carefully before acting. Whether we want to buy a shop, purchase land, invest in gold or dollars, or even make a friend, whatever we do, we must think it through first, find the right path, and not act until we have.
For example, if you want to lose weight, someone might suggest intestinal bypass surgery. But you should think carefully, consult a few people who actually had the procedure, and see what they say. There are many other matters that require careful thought before action.
Thank you all for listening to my words.
Mr. Dezhakam’s Words During the Contribution of Members:
Look, this person has lost 24 kilograms in just 11 months. They ate everything and didn’t follow any specific diet. This is the true key to discovering the truth. Had it taken until the Day of Judgment for this path to be found, no one could have achieved anything. Right now, we may not fully grasp the importance of this, but it will become clear later, just as a judge’s ruling often doesn’t appear significant during his lifetime.
There’s no easier or safer way than this. In other methods, people literally have their abdomen opened, intestines shortened, or stomach reduced, bringing them to the brink of death. We should be grateful to God for this and truly appreciate the value of these developments.
All human beings are chosen by God. If we start claiming that we are the chosen ones, we will gradually lose our direction, our Qibla, and begin to imagine that we are somehow special, set apart from the rest of humanity. In reality, we are no different. Every person is chosen by God, and the closer someone is to piety, the closer they are to Him.
When announcing names, don’t use the titles “Traveler” or “Companion.” For example, don’t say “Traveler Hassan” or “Companion Hossein”, just say their names. Even on Congress 60 ID cards, these titles are not used. This is because, in Congress 60, it makes no difference whether someone is a traveler or a companion. Not every member of Congress 60 is a (drug) user, so don’t separate people by these titles, simply call everyone by their name.
