Communications of Hossein and Bill (Reply to Hossein, October 15, 2024)

October 15, 2024

Dear Hossein,

Rita and I escaped all but minor damage from the hurricane, but some of our local communities experienced wind damage and flooding from the storm surge. As you will see in the photos below, some local streets in our neighboring city of Punta Gorda are still flooded and some of the boats and boat lifts in our local marina were severely damaged. The Hurricane landed north of us and we experienced the most severe effects for about five hours. The wind sounded like a train coming at us and the water in the canal behind our building rose about eight feet flooding parts of the first floor. Our apartment is on the third flood so we escaped any of the flooding damage. The windshield of my truck was cracked due to flying debris but we consider ourselves quite fortunate in only having that minor damage. We helped cleanup the debris in the days following, and it seems that things are slowing getting back to normal though it will take a long time for more severe damage in our area to be repaired. Thanks you for your concern. I should be able to get back to work on our latest project in the days ahead.

Friends and Brothers Forever,

Bill
