Jones Legion: The Right Path to Healthy Eating
Hello, friends. I am Arsalan, a traveler of Jones Legion. I traveled for 11 months and 25 days under the guidance of Mr. Reza Parsa from the Academy branch of Congress 60, following the DST method, achieving a weight loss of 27 kilograms. Today, Sunday, June 23, 2024, I begin writing an article about Jones Legion, weight loss, healthy eating, and its effects on me.
In the year 2015, with the damage caused by consuming oral opium, smoked opium, hashish, marijuana, tramadol, methadone, and alcohol, I joined Congress 60, Human Revival Association. At the time of joining Congress 60, I weighed around 67 kilograms and was 173 centimeters tall. I started my journey and treatment for addiction.
When I joined Congress 60, I was in a terrible state, hopeless about life and even about quitting my drug use. I had tried many methods to free myself from addiction but found no success. Upon the suggestion of a few friends who had achieved recovery through Congress 60, I received the Congress 60’s message. I joined for initial registration and consultation, thinking, this is just another attempt, and it will probably fail too.
I traveled for 11 months and 11 days using the DST method with OT medication. Following that, I underwent a nicotine cessation journey for 10 months and 21 days, both guided by my master and guide, Mr. Arash, who helped me through the process.
In 2016, with the completion of my addiction cure, it felt as though I was reborn. Life took on a new vibrancy for me, and every moment after my recovery has been filled with joy and satisfaction, a feeling that remains ever-present. I thank God a thousand times for allowing me to be born at a time when the miracle of the universe—solving and decoding the issue of addiction treatment—was achieved by Mr. Dezhakam.
A Beautiful Beginning:
I no longer woke up with the taste of burnt cigarette butts in my lungs. The wheezing in my chest was gone, and I no longer found myself waking up with my mouth agape from withdrawal before even opening my eyes. I could fully savor the taste and aroma of food, flowers, and every pleasant scent as if my five senses had come alive again. Even nightmares had stopped haunting my sleep. However, this marked the start of a new struggle with weight gain.
Enjoying the flavors of food and beverages like soda, packaged juices, and malt drinks unknowingly became a nightmare of weight gain for me. Slowly but surely, the excess fat started weighing on me like 10-kilogram sacks of rice on my shoulders. Running and even walking became challenging, quickly increasing my heart rate. I found myself struggling with basic personal tasks, like clipping my toenails or tying my shoelaces. Many times, my companion woke me in the middle of the night, fearing I had stopped breathing in my sleep.
Warning Bell:
One day, during a family gathering, a close relative who is a family physician suggested that I get a physical check-up and offered to write me a lab test prescription. I had been experiencing fatigue, lethargy, sleepiness, and tingling in the soles of my feet for some time, but I reluctantly agreed. After completing the test and three days later, I received a call from the lab.
"Mr. Mehdizadeh, were you fasting for 12 hours before visiting the lab?" they asked. I replied, "Yes, it had been about twelve hours since my last meal."
They then asked, "Did you consume a heavy or fatty meal the night before?" I responded, "No, I ate something light and simple." They informed me, "There seems to be an issue with your results. Please return for a retest at no additional cost."
A sense of fear crept over me. The next day, I quickly repeated the test. To my shock, the results showed extremely high levels of fat in my blood: Triglycerides 2484, S.G.P.T. (ALT) 52, and Total Cholesterol 425. This was a wake-up call for me.
The Path Emerges by Walking, “the 8th valley of Congress 60”:
At that time, my weight had reached 103 kilograms. I began listening to Mr. Dezhakam's CDs about weight loss and body structure. While I managed to lose some weight, my progress was inconsistent, with frequent fluctuations. Then, I joined Mr. Reza Parsa's Jones Legion in Taleghani Park, Tehran, weighing 103 kilograms as a Jones Legion Traveller.
During my first session, Mr. Parsa highlighted several key points and noted them in my booklet:
1. First Rule: Avoid drinking water during meals and for one hour before and after eating. Initially, this rule was challenging because I was used to drinking beverages with meals. However, I quickly adapted.
2. Second Rule: Eat salad 20 minutes before lunch and dinner.
3. Third Rule: Use D.SAP as seasoning with the salad.
4. Fourth Rule: Take a morning walk before breakfast and transcribed “Weight Loss” and “Body Structure” and “Overweight” CDs and other related CDs.
Writing these notes helped deepen my understanding of the concepts and answered many of my unresolved questions. It empowered me to approach weight loss with more determination.
Through studying the educational materials provided on Jones Legion, I learned the importance of maintaining three structured meals a day, much like the DST method [which includes three times of consumption, in the morning, noon and night]. This included regular meal timing and becoming familiar with food types. By understanding the nature of foods, I realized the human body requires protein-rich foods during the day to support metabolism and muscle building, prompting me to focus more on consuming healthy, protein-packed meals.
From the "Body Structure" CDs and lessons, I grasped the value of consuming foods deemed permissible by the guidelines, avoiding the restriction of wholesome, natural ingredients. The emphasis was placed on avoiding highly processed or artificially enhanced foods, ensuring the dining table consisted of fresh, natural options.
Another key takeaway was avoiding food freezing or extended refrigeration, as these practices diminish the nutritional quality of foods. Eating fresh ensures maximum benefit and prevents spoilage.
The materials also underscored the risks of letting the body adapt to prolonged hunger. Starvation prompts fat storage as a survival mechanism, leading to unhealthy weight retention. Furthermore, potassium emerged as a vital nutrient to prevent skin sagging and hair loss during weight reduction. The integration of D.SAP effectively addressed these challenges, as introduced by the Congress 60 founder.
Finally, regular physical activity, including walking and exercise, was highlighted as essential for maintaining a healthy, balanced body. These steps collectively supported a sustainable and health-conscious lifestyle.
The human body, unlike machines that wear down with use over time, grows stronger and more resilient with physical activity, healthy nutrition, and exercise. In building muscle and improving body appearance, it's essential to include nutrient-rich foods like fresh milk, meat, chicken, fish, legumes, vegetables, and fruits in our diet. Seasonal produce should be prioritized to boost the immune system.
We must learn to appreciate and understand the benefits and properties of the foods we consume. It’s important to know what to eat, when to eat it, and in what quantities.
I am deeply grateful to Mr. Dezhakam and my Jones guide, Mr. Reza Parsa, for their support in helping me achieve my goal. By joining the Jones Legion, I reduced my weight from 103 kg to 75 kg within ten months. I will continue to work hard to maintain a healthy body, as this body is a gift that I must care for.
