Communication of Hossein and Bill (Reply to Hossein, May 7, 2024)

Dear Hossein,

I am glad you are doing well. I have had good health reports as well recently. The residual effects of the stroke seem to be disappearing and I am feeling fine these days.

This is the time of year in Florida when all those from the North who traveled down to spend winter months here are now returning to their homes in Norther United States. They are escaping from what will be the high temperatures and humidity here in the summer months. Since Rita and I have lived hear your around for more than twenty years, we are used to it and enjoy these months as well as the more moderate months of the winter. The spring setting you describe in Iran sounds wonderful with blossoms filling the countryside.

It is good that our communications are collected for posterity. They will be part of our legacy of friendship and collaboration rising above the tensions that so plague our world. A shared vision and mutual respect can transcend all boundaries.

I always welcome the news of Congress 60. There is always so much going on that interests me. The gratitude rituals of Guide week are a fitting tribute to those who perform these service roles within Congress 60.

Thank you for responding to my questions about potential collaboration on future Congress 60 studies. I will speak with Dr. Galanter in the very near future to see if this is something that he would be able to assist us with. He has taken the lead on many recent studies we have completed and published and would be of great value if he would have time to work with us. He is also quite knowledgeable about publishing papers in leading addiction and psychiatric journals and handles many of the publication details far more effectively than I am able to do. I will keep you posted on our conversations and his ideas about what studies might be of mutual interest. With your assistance and the resources you have available to you in Iran, I think we will be able to still conduct some important studies on the methods of Congress 60. And I am confident we can gain the cooperation of Chestnut’s Institutional Review Board to provide ethical approval for any studies prior to their conduct.

Do let me know when more of your speeches are translated into English. I will then post links to those so that readers who visit my website may gain access to them. It is good that you have plans to expand the library of your writings that will be available to current and future generations.

Congratulations are also warranted for the continued progress on you experiments and the publication of the results. This is all quite remarkable.

For my part, I am finishing up work on a couple of forthcoming book chapters and also providing what guidance I can offer to those contacting me about various recovery-focused research and service projects. It is exciting each day to witness the rising recovery advocacy and recovery support movements around the world.

Please extend my warmest regards to your family and to all members of Congress 60.

Friends and Brothers Forever
