Yes, the call went very well and it was a joy to be able to communicate directly with you and to meet Dr. Arvin. We are indebted to Ehsan for facilitating this communication.
I think the plans that will flow from this first virtual meeting will reap many rewards for Congress 60 in the future, and I think your support of Dr. George’s planned nicotine addiction treatment program will be of great assistance to him and will be a milestone in introducing the DST method in the United States. The three papers you note on blood cancer, COVID and addiction will also be important milestones in this process.
Dr. George Kolodner’s plan to reinitiate contact with the leaders of NIDA on our behalf is also a potentially important step. Working with government at that level can be a very slow process but one with potentially enormous impact.
As all of this is unfolding, I am busy with the final details of transferring my website to the oversight of Chestnut Health Systems—the organization I helped found in 1973 and returned in 1986 to start its research division. This transfer will assure that all of my and our papers will remain available far into the future.
It feels like the stars are aligning for a great surge forward in our work.
