Dr. Haj Rasouli’s Speech in the 13th International Congress of Addiction Treatment

Dr. Haj Rasouli’s Speech in the 13th International Congress of Addiction Treatment

Mr. Haj Rasouli: We have to try to intrigue the world to DST method.

The 13th addiction knowledge international congress has been held for three days from 21th of August 2019 by Cellular and Molecular Research Renter of Iran university of medical and science and the national center for addiction studies of Tehran University of Medical Sciences with the support of   Headquarters for the Development of Cognitive Sciences and Technology and a number of scientific and research centers in Razi international conference center.

Masoud Haj Rasouli, Ph.D. in sports physiology and Associate Professor of the university and as a representative of Congress60 revival group in this conference mentioned that:

This conference (Congress) is completely scientific and some articles will be presented by Iran and other countries. Fortunately, my articles and other members of Congress60’s articles have been accepted as the lectures and posters of the conference. The Congress60’s important role began last year at this conference. Last year Mr. Dezhakam opted to support this conference financially and spiritually to help Congress60 be closer to scientific parts. If we tend to be globally known [effective], we will not be able to introduce ourselves through the aid of money. We can not establish branches with lots of challenges and difficulties in other countries, because we will face a wide range of problems.

He further emphasized:

We have to try to intrigue the world to DST method and Mr. Dezhakam’s innovative method. This would not be possible except through the result of some scientific research. That’s why Mr. Dezhakam told me to focus my article more on the DST method.

He demonstrated the subject of his article:

Fortunately last year, Iran Drug Control Headquarters Office was looking for a review and research on the process of addiction treatment by DST method, therefore, I was given a mission to do a research on 500 of those who had one year of liberation from addiction and why one year? Because, globally  the optimum maintenance of recovery from addiction is three months, six months and one year. Interestingly, the results of the world investigations show that 30 to 35 percent of  people who abandoned their addiction by other methods recur to addiction from  in the first three months. This number reaches 62% in six months and 93% to 97% after one year. In other words, in the best places in the world where they are optimally equipped and developed, 93 to 97 percent of people recur to addiction. In Iran, this number reaches 98%. This means that during the one year 98 persons recur to addiction from 100 people. Why? Because they had undergone withdrawal, while in Congress60 addicts are treated. [Treatment is upper than withdrawal].

In 2006, I accomplished research work with Iran Drug Control Headquarters office budget. This research focused on 300 samples of addicts who belong to Congress60, NA (narcotics anonymous), Compulsory Camps and methadone consumers. The result was very strange. Drug test results were negative for 11% of NA members, 7% of methadone consumers, 15% of compulsory camp members and 79% of Congress60 members, and this was an incredible fillip for them when they became  aware of these results.

When they saw the successive successes of Congress60, my research plan was accepted. After that, a variety of statistical methods were carried out on 3015 individuals who were treated from the beginning to the end of the year 2014 and finally, we chose 500 of them who were addicted to drugs, alcohol, and stimulants. We accidently attended different branches of Congress60 I  Tehran and other cities and called for their participation in an educational meeting, (they weren’t aware of the research) and we asked them to fill a mental health and life quality questionnaire and then we took a urine test from them unexpectedly (of course 19 of them refused to give the test).

We informed Mr. Dezhakam about those 19 people (who refused to give the test) and finally, we assumed their urine test positive too (Because if they had no problem, they did not refuse the test). We took the results to the laboratory of Iran Addiction Studies Scientific Center (INKAS). Interestingly, including those 19 people, 88.4% of results were negative. Only 11.6% were positive and this is a global record. This result is incredible. I reported this interesting result to the Iran Drug Control Headquarters office and it is available as a document there. I will deliver a speech about that in Addiction Science Conference (Congress).
