Wednesdays' Workshops: "The Third Valley"

No one is more concerned about you than you are about yourself. So, gather yourself together, take care of your life, organize your plans, and take charge of your own affairs.

Wednesdays' Workshops:

The fourth session of the 87th round of Congress 60’s worldview workshops for travelers and companions, with Mr. Hossein Dezhakam serving as the Master and Guardian of the session and me, companion Shahin, as the secretary, began at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Ordibehesht 30, 1405 (May 20, 2026). The agenda was: “The Third Valley: It has to be known that nobody thinks as much as human being for his Real self.”

Hello friends, I am Hossein, a traveler.
I hope all of you are doing well. Thank God, I’m doing well too. Today is Ordibehesht 30, 1405, and the time is 10:06 in the morning. Fortunately, this is the second session we’ve held since the New Year holidays, and God willing, if conditions remain suitable, we’ll continue holding our sessions regularly and broadcasting the live stream as well.
There are two important points I want to remind you of. First, last week we said that those coming from other cities should be considerate of the neighbors. One of the very important things is that when we are treating addiction, we are also learning proper social behavior and etiquette. Even though we had already mentioned this, this morning members of Legion 10 from the Imam Gholi Khan branch were changing their clothes out in the street. The border-guards gave them a reminder, and thankfully they immediately corrected their behavior.
This is something we truly need to pay attention to. Imagine taking your shirt off in the middle of the street, changing into an undershirt, taking off your pants and changing clothes in public, it’s really a disaster (laughs). Think about it: the reputation and dignity of Congress 60 are at stake. People out there don’t know who you are. Hundreds of people, three hundred, five hundred, six hundred people, come and go here every day. If we don’t maintain order and discipline, the neighbors will complain, problems will arise, and a thousand other issues will follow.

So Babak is here as well, from Public Relations Department. Later, I want him to notify all the branches that whenever groups come to Tehran, they should appoint someone as a supervisor within their own group, someone responsible to stay with the team. Usually, they should bring along an elder or a more experienced person to accompany them, whether on the road, in restaurants while eating together, or when getting off the bus and coming to Congress, so they can learn these basic manners and social etiquettes properly. All branches need to teach these things to their pupils, both men and women. They shouldn’t create unnecessary gatherings, stand around in the streets, or block the sidewalks. If they want to have breakfast and they’re outside, there’s a nice park just a little farther down the road. Go there, sit in the park, and have breakfast peacefully. Both men and women can do this without any problem. So this is something we absolutely must observe, so that in terms of social behavior and etiquette, we conduct ourselves properly and respectfully.

The next issue is something I brought up a few months ago. I gave people time, actually, even more time than necessary. I had said that I wanted to stop those who are overweight, especially guides and officials, from serving in their positions. But then I realized that three or four of our own Watchers also had excess weight, and if we wanted to enforce this rule on the guides, people would naturally say: “First the Watchers themselves should lose weight, then tell us what to do.”
So I first addressed the matter with the Watchers themselves. I spoke to them, and they worked on reducing their weight. Mr. Mansouri, for example, lost around 44 kilos altogether. Babak reached a standard weight. Majid also dropped below 100 kilos and is getting back into shape. So the issue among the Watchers was resolved. They even formed a legion here, with Asghar Mansouri becoming the guide for the Watchmen’s weight-loss legion. Every week they held sessions and worked on losing weight together.
So we dealt with the matter from the top first. Now the same principle applies below as well. From this point on, all agents, both men and women, should prepare a list of guides who are overweight and submit it to me, so we can review their cases and make firm decisions about them. Because in our view, obesity is an illness, a real disease. At one time there was no proper solution for it, but now there is a clear and effective solution.

Today alone, I issued around nine or ten liberation decrees for women who had overcome excess weight. The highest weight loss was 35 kilos. Monireh had four pupils, and all of them had lost significant amounts of weight, over 20 kilos, 30 kilos, even 35 kilos. These were very serious weight issues, yet they resolved them smoothly and naturally within Congress 60, in a steady and simple way. This is why people themselves need to understand that this work can truly be done.

Another issue was the matter of OT syrup. The price of OT syrup had started rising just like the prices of meat and chicken and everything else (laughing), actually, even worse than that. Some cities had suggested pricing the OT syrup at 60 thousand tomans per cc. That means if someone needed just 10 cc, they would have to pay 600 thousand tomans. One hundred cc would cost 6 million tomans, and a 250-cc bottle would come to 15 million tomans! Fifteen million tomans for one 250-cc bottle! Can you imagine how much that would be per kilo?

In the past, people used to buy OT syrup and convert it back into opium. There was a lot of talk about that. They would say: “They take the opium syrup, boil it down, and turn it into opium.” I told them: whoever says that doesn’t know what they’re talking about. There’s no need to boil it at all. Just pour the syrup into a bowl and leave it on a shelf for a day or two, the water and alcohol evaporate on their own. There’s no need for boiling or changing its nature.
Back then it was economically worthwhile for some people to do that. But now it no longer makes sense. If every cc costs 60 thousand tomans, that means the syrup would effectively cost 600 million tomans per kilo! Meanwhile, opium itself had at one point risen to around 250 to 300 million tomans per kilo. But the price of the syrup can never logically go higher than the price of opium itself. Otherwise, people would simply buy the syrup and evaporate it back into opium.
But now the market has changed. What’s the current price of opium? Who here knows the exact figure? (Audience laughs.) Looks like someone here is involved in the trade (laughter). Right now, it’s somewhere between 70 to 90 million tomans. It’s no longer 300 million or 600 million. In a while it might even drop to 40, 50, or 30 million.
So now the price should be around 7 thousand tomans per cc,not 60 thousand tomans per cc anymore.

Therefore, the price of opium tincture is collapsing, and in fact, it already has collapsed. The days when people would hold onto bottles of opium tincture and pay 12 or 15 million for each bottle are over. And those people who have warehouses full of stock piled up, I’m giving them an ultimatum, he says jokingly, sell it quickly and get rid of it, because the longer it stays, the worse the situation will become. Soon they won’t even buy a bottle for a hundred tomans.
So thankfully, there’s no problem anymore. At one point people were chasing opium tincture priced at 60 thousand tomans per cc, 30 thousand tomans per cc,we even reached 25 thousand tomans at one stage, meaning they were saying each cc should cost 25 thousand tomans; that is, 250 million tomans per kilo. But the price of opium tincture has to be determined by the price of opium itself. The price of opium tincture cannot become higher than the price of opium. The bowl cannot become hotter than the soup itself.

It would be very, very appropriate if the clinics could provide this for us. If they are able to make it available to us, it would definitely be much better for us to use the government-regulated and controlled supply. But when the price difference becomes too large, then whether we want it or not, other paths begin to open up, and that creates problems.
Well, hopefully this issue will also be fully resolved, and solutions are already underway. The government is also making a great effort to solve it. I personally spoke with the Deputy Secretary-General of the headquarters, and all of them are truly doing everything they can to find a way to resolve this issue properly. They are exploring many different solutions, and I have witnessed their efforts firsthand.
So, I wanted to share this information with you, so you know what the current situation with OT is. There is no need for concern.

The next issue is our Third Valley which reads: It has to be known that nobody thinks as much as human being for his Real self. This is one of the very key principles of Congress 60. In fact, all the Valleys are key points; they are like steps that guide us, show us the way, and illuminate the path for us. These are things we must truly learn.
No being thinks about a person as much as the person himself thinks about himself. It is just like that beautiful saying: The bowl never becomes hotter than the soup. If the soup is sixty degrees and you pour it into a steel or copper bowl, no matter how hot the bowl gets, it will still only become sixty degrees. The soup is sixty degrees, the bowl also becomes sixty degrees. It is impossible for the soup to be sixty degrees and the bowl somehow become sixty-one degrees. The bowl can never be hotter than the soup.
No one will ever think about us more than we think about ourselves. No one will care about Hossein Dezhakam more than Hossein Dezhakam himself. And the same is true for every single one of you.
So this must become a guiding principle in our lives. We should not imagine or assume that there are people who love us so much that they think about us more than we think about ourselves. It simply is not that way.
What this Valley wants to tell us is this: do not hand over your responsibilities to others. Accept responsibility yourself. No one is more concerned about you than you are about yourself. So, gather yourself together, take care of your life, organize your plans, and take charge of your own affairs.

This is really what the Third Valley wants to teach us: that we ourselves must take action. Because we were always expecting others to do things for us. We expected others to cure our addiction, others to solve our excess weight, others to handle all of our problems. We never expected that the main axis, the main key, is actually ourselves. This is something we must place at the center of our lives.
Congress 60 itself must think about Congress 60. The financial matters of Congress 60 must be solved by Congress 60 itself. Its expenses and financial responsibilities must be handled from within.
And today something very interesting happened for me. I saw that from a city like Kashmar, a small county town, six Pahlavan applicants had come to see me today. One “Mark of the Nameless” as well. Most of them were from the same legion. This shows the role and influence a legion can have in guiding and developing its members.
Out of those six who had applied for the rank of Pahlavan, five were accepted, and we told one of them to come back next year. The “Mark of the Nameless” was accepted as well.
Now look at the strength and capability that can emerge from a small city like Kashmar, and how well these people have received the training.
Then, on the other hand, a city like Kerman comes and says, “Can’t you combine us with Rafsanjan or Sirjan, so that the people there contribute financially and Kerman can benefit from it?” In other words, they themselves are unable to handle it independently.
Meanwhile, not long ago, Congress 60 purchased a building for the women travelers in Kerman, and it cost close to twenty billion tomans. Congress 60 paid for it. But now they want to complete another building project, and although their total budget is one and a half billion tomans, they cannot even move forward with twenty or thirty million tomans of construction expenses!
In reality, it was the surrounding cities like Rafsanjan and Sirjan that raised the standing of Kerman Province in terms of financial contribution and support, not the city of Kerman itself. The nearby towns and cities lifted the province up. Now they want to build a new building, and altogether they have a budget of one and a half billion tomans, yet when it comes to twenty or thirty million tomans of construction expenses, they cannot even make a move!

What is it that has caused people in Kashmar to develop such a mindset and way of thinking, while in Kerman Province, especially the city of Kerman itself, such thinking does not exist? To the point that we were forced to step in ourselves and spend twenty billion tomans to purchase a building for the women travelers in Kerman, and tomorrow we still have to spend another five or six billion on chairs, tables, and other necessities.
Because for the men’s branches, sometimes the locations can be on the outskirts of the city to some extent; but for the women’s branches, we cannot place them in remote areas. They must be located in the city center, so that commuting and transportation will not become difficult for the women.

So, this is exactly what it means when we say that no being thinks about itself more than the being itself does. The city of Kerman must think about Kerman itself. Rafsanjan should not be the one financially supporting Kerman, nor should other places have to carry its responsibilities. The same goes for Tabriz and every other city; each one must stand up and think for itself.
For example, Isfahan functions very well in this regard, and Mashhad is the same. They take responsibility for themselves. We have many branches in Mashhad and many branches in Isfahan because they became aware and took ownership of their situation. After all, these branches belong to the members themselves, not to us. We cannot take resources from one branch and constantly transfer them to another branch. Therefore, the members of each branch and each city must think about their own affairs and responsibilities.
The members of a family must think about their own family. The people running a shop, a business, or a supermarket must think about their own work and livelihood. The people of a country must also think about their own country.
In every situation, the people directly involved must be the ones planning and managing their own affairs. They should not sit waiting for others to come and solve their problems for them. They themselves must learn how to bring balance into their own lives and situations.
Once we truly understand and apply this way of thinking, many of our problems will be solved.

Back when I had many problems during my time of addiction, I was always expecting others to come and solve things for me. As people in Kerman jokingly say: “Neighbors, come help so I can manage my husband!” In other words, everyone else should come help, one person should cook the food, another should wash the clothes, someone else should handle the responsibilities, so that she can say she is managing her household! But life does not work that way.
I used to think the same way. If I had financial problems, I expected my sister, my brother, or my relatives to give me the money they had saved and worked hard for, so that I could solve my own problems with it. They had worked, struggled, saved, and put money aside for difficult days, while I myself had made no effort, no real attempt, and had spent my money on drugs or alcohol. Yet I expected them to hand over their savings so my problems could disappear.
And if they refused, then I would complain endlessly: “They don’t understand me. They aren’t real family. They’re useless.”
But later I realized that this way of thinking was completely wrong. If someone has savings, it belongs to them. They worked hard for it and put it aside for their own future difficulties and responsibilities. I have no right to expect to take what they earned and saved. I should not live with that kind of expectation.

That is why when we come to Congress 60, we say that our treatment is our own responsibility. Everything is our own responsibility. Obtaining our medication is our responsibility. Taking care of our affairs is our responsibility. We must learn to solve our own problems ourselves.
And this is exactly why Congress 60 has been able to stand the way it has. Not a single rial of help was taken from anyone. We did not take money from foreign countries, we did not take it from the government, we did not take it from inside sources, and we did not take it from charities. We stood on our own feet.
If we truly learn this principle, then the problem is solved.
Thank you all for listening to my words. I sincerely appreciate all of you. Thank you.

Those members who have lost more than 20 kilos of excess weight should come forward together with their guides.

After the first contribution, Mr. Dezhakam said:

Look, in Congress 60 our work is to learn from each other’s experiences. Right now, these two people spoke, but they did not really share anything about their own experience. They thanked the DST guide, thanked the James Bond guide, thanked this person and that person.
What we want is for both of you to explain your actual experience. What did you do that helped you lose twenty kilos, so that others can understand it and do the same thing themselves? The guide briefly mentioned walking, but how exactly was it done? What steps did you take? This is the experience we want to hear. Whether you thank me or thank someone else, put that aside for a moment. Just say a brief thank you, very shortly, and then explain your experience. How many kilos did you lose? How did you lose them? That is what you need to share.

At every level, we need these kinds of experiences. We do not contribute just for appearances, for entertainment, or simply to keep ourselves busy. Throughout all of Congress 60, it is the same. Everything is based on transferring experience.
I shared my experiences with you, and because of that, you were able to reach results yourselves. So, whenever any of us contributes, that contribution should truly mean the transfer of experience. That is what we need to talk about.
For example, I have been eating eggs for many years now, and my cholesterol levels are perfectly balanced. Even if you check whether my liver has become fatty, you will see everything is under control. I regularly do cholesterol tests, and all my results are normal.
In the same way that we do not have a substance stronger than opium in the world of drugs, we also do not have a food more powerful than the egg. Just think about what an egg really is. It is essentially a living cell containing all the materials needed to create a living being. A chick comes out of it, so naturally it must contain everything necessary: bones, flesh, muscles, tendons, a brain, feathers, everything is already inside the egg.
And on top of that, it is delicious, nourishing, and easy for the body to digest. It contains many different B vitamins, vitamin D, and countless other beneficial nutrients.

Now, for example, when you eat eggs in the morning, if you eat boiled eggs together with bread, by eleven or twelve o’clock you will feel hungry again. But if you eat the eggs without bread, you will not feel hungry so quickly.
What is the reason for this? Bread is mainly carbohydrates. I do not want to go into the scientific details right now, but once you eat it, insulin production immediately increases, and afterward you begin to feel hungry again. But if you eat the eggs without bread, then insulin is not triggered in the same way, and you will not feel hungry at all.
