Dear Hossein,
Thank you for the poster for the panel presentation this week. I look forward to your report on the response to the panel presentations. Please extend my personal thank you to Shani for presenting on my behalf. It is an honor for me that she will be presenting my remarks. I’m also interested in your remarks about the other conference presentations and what they reveal about the state of international research on addiction and recovery.
Here in the U.S., the research community is in panic over the just-elected President’s announced plans to cut funding for nearly all scientific research funded by the National Institutes of Health. Those cuts if they go through would have a profoundly detrimental effect on the future of addiction research and on all manner of other scientific advancements.
I do appreciate your updates on the research experiments that are underway. Our project continues and I will have more time to devote to writing up the results as my other big project on retention in medication-assisted treatment of opioid use disorder is near completion.
Your speech that was translated into English with the help of AI was warmly welcome by myself, and I look forward to others in the future. I thought the quality of the translation was quite good as was the quality of the voice used to replace yours.
