I hope this latest communication finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. Rita and I are doing fine, though several distant family members have experienced the COVID infection in recent weeks. Rita and I continue our extreme isolation given our health vulnerabilities. Rita is doing much better these days after a slow recovery from back pain. We are back to walking every day and she is feeling like her usual self again.
I enjoyed the photo of your desk. When I have a writing project going, my desk looks like a tornado went through my office. I recently did a major sorting so mine looks fare better than usual. You will see my desk in the attached photos and see many Congress 60 items that I keep close by, including your books, a bottle of D.SAP, and some of the other gifts you have sent me over the years. These items inspire me and provide daily reminders of our ongoing collaborations.
Thank you for responding to Dr. George Kolodner’s inquiries. I think he could be a very important connection for Congress 60 and getting information on Congress 60 out to the international psychiatric community. I have worked with him for a number of years on various projects and think you will find him a kindred spirit or ours. He is quite passionate at present on the import of smoking cessation for people seeking recovery from other addictions and is quite interested in Congress 60’s success in this area.
As you know, I am taking a break from my weekly recovery blogs but will likely begin writing and posting them again in the Spring. I find a few months off from this writing each year is a good time for replenishment and reflection on some of the things I will later write about. How is your writing coming along these days? You seem to always have one or more writing projects in progress. When I restart the blog series, we will have to explore possible collaborations for 2022. I continue to get appreciative responses to our earlier work together.
My interest in Iran continues to increase. I have recently found some video documentaries on the history of Iran and also some delightful videos highlighting favorites foods in Iran. I must say, the dishes in the videos look absolutely delicious.
