خوشحالم که هفته‌ای خوب در مزرعه سپری کردید و تولید D. Sap تقریباً تکمیل‌شده است.

اخبار افزایش تعداد کلینیک‌های همکار به ۲۲۰ بسیار اخبار خوبی است. این یک دستاورد بی‌نظیر است که تأثیری غنی بر آینده درمان اعتیاد ایران خواهد گذاشت.

من نگران سلامت شما و اعضای کنگره ۶۰ در طی پاندمی کوئید ۱۹ هستم و امیدوارم که D.Sap یک سپر محافظ برای شما باشد. اخبار کرونا در اینجا اخبار خوبی نیست.

اگرچه تعداد موارد مبتلا در هفته گذشته کاهش اندکی داشته است، همچنان ارقام بسیار بالاست و فلوریدا همچنان یکی از بدترین ایالات دراین‌باره است.

تعداد زیاد افراد مسن‌تر، جریان شدید توریست‌ها به اینجا و تعداد زیاد افرادی که ماسک نمی‌زنند و یا فاصله اجتماعی را رعایت نمی‌کنند باعث شده که فلوریدا بسیار آسیب‌پذیر باشد. ما یک شهردار در فلوریدا داریم که بسیار به رئیس‌جمهور نزدیک است و هردوی آن‌ها در رهبری پاسخ‌دهی به کوئید شکست خورده‌اند.

بابت یادآوری دوباره درباره گلریزان سپاسگزارم. این مراسم‌ها بخش حیاتی از کنگره ۶۰ هستند. اکنون بخش‌هایی از صحبت‌های قبلی‌مان درباره این موضوع را به یاد می‌آورم. در سنی هستم که بعضی از این جزئیات از ذهنم می‌رود بنابراین بابت تکرار این سؤال عذرخواهی می‌کنم.

تقبل کرده‌ام به‌عنوان مشاور در یک پروژه تحقیقاتی درمان اعتیاد دانشگاه هاروارد شرکت کنم. هدف پروژه کمک به افراد برای ورود به ریکاوری و همچنین ورود به بازار کار از طریق گروه‌های حمایت ریکاوری است.

این روزها درخواست‌های مشاوره زیادی تقبل نمی‌کنم، اما این حوزه تحقیقاتی همیشه برای من جالب بوده و تیمی که دانشگاه هاروارد برای این تحقیق جمع‌آوری کرده است مرا تحت تأثیر قرار داده است. با پیشرفت کار جزئیات بیشتری را با شما در میان خواهم گذاشت.

اخیراً فکر می‌کردم که چقدر شما در نوشتن فعال بوده‌اید. آیا زمان خاصی برای نوشتن اختصاص داده‌اید؟ آیا مکان خاصی برای نوشتن دارید؟ من هر صبح یک یا دو ساعت را می‌نویسم و میزتحریر راحتی برای این کاردارم که توسط اشیا الهام‌بخش ازجمله هدایای بسیار شما قرارگرفته است.

Dear Hossein,

I’m delighted that you had a good week at the farm and that D. Sap production there is nearing completion.

The news that your collaboration with clinics in Iran has now reached a total of 220 is most welcome. That is a remarkable achievement that I am sure will exert a profound influence on the future of addiction treatment in Iran.

I do worry about your health as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and hope the D. Sap will provide a protective shield for you and other members of Congress 60. The COVID news from here is not good. Although there has been a slight decrease in new cases in the past week, they continue at a very high level, and Florida remains one of the worst hit states. The concentration of older adults here, the constant stream of tourists, and too many people not wearing masks or practicing social distancing all make Florida very vulnerable. We have a governor in FL closely aligned with the President, both of whom have failed in their leadership on responding to COVID.

Thank you for the reminder about the nature of the Golrizan ceremony. These ceremonies as I recall are a very important part of the sustainability and vitality of Congress 60. I do now remember some of our earlier discussions of this. I am at an age where some of these details slip from my memory so apologies for any repeated questions to you.

The news of your negotiations with the university on the Island of Qeshm is quite exciting and promising.  What a legacy a university focused on addiction studies would be for you and Congress 60. Do keep me informed of your progress in these negotiations.

I have agreed to provide consultation on a project sponsored by Harvard University’s addiction treatment and research units. The aim of the project is to help people entering recovering also reenter the workforce through a variety of employment-focused recovery support services. I do not agree to many consultation requests these days, but this is an area that has always been of interest to me and I am very impressed with the team of people Harvard has assembled to work on it. I will provide more details as this work proceeds.

I have recently been thinking of how prolific you have been with your writing.  Do you set aside particular times to write? Do you have a special place that you do your writing? I continue to write for an hour or two each morning and have a comfortable desk at which I write—surrounded by objects that inspire me, including the many gifts you have shared with me over the years. The large silver platter with the Congress 60 symbol at its center hangs just to the left of my writing desk, and the framed eagle rests just above my desk.

I wish you, your family, and all members of Congress 6o continued good health and safety as all us seek escape from the clutches of this pandemic.
