شنیدن از شما همواره باعث خوشحالی است، حتی زمانی که نامه باید کوتاه و خلاصه باشد.
فکر کنم اطلاعات کافی دارم تا یک جمع بندی خوب در مصاحبه تئوری ایکس و متد دی اس تی انجام دهم. این را در یک پیشنویس به زبانی که فکر میکنم بهتر برای مخاطب بین المللی کار میکند آماده میکنن و سپس شما میتوانید اصلاحات یا تغییرات احتمالی را روی آن انجام دهید. برنامه تعطیلات ریتا و من تا نیمه ژانویه ادامه خواهد داشت ولی امیدوارم که در دو هفته نهایی ژانویه بتوانم به کار روی مصاحبه بپردازم. ما در اوایل ژانویه به شمال کارولینا خواهیم رفت تا به دو تن از خواهرانم که خانه ای در کنار اقیانوس برای تعطیلات اجاره کرده اند بپیوندیم. به محض بازگشت از تعطیلات کار روی مصاحبه را آغاز خواهم نمود.
چه خبر خوبی است که مجوز چاپ ۱۴ مقاله را دریافت کرده اید. این خدمتی دیگر از شما به حوزه اعتیاد و مردان، زنان و خانواده هایی است که حوزه درمان اعتیاد به خوبی به آنان خدمت نکرده است. اگر احسان ترجمه این کتاب را انجام دهد، خوشحال خواهم شد که این کتاب را در کنار دیگر کتابها و مقالات شما روی سایتم قرار بدهم.
حال که کتاب من یعنی به پاخواستن ریکاوری تمام شده است، در حال برنامه ریزی هستم که چطور زمان خودم را در سال جاری صرف کنم. در طول سال جاری به وبلاگ ریکاوری خودم به طور مستمر خواهم پرداخت. این وبلاگ راه خوبی برای من بوده است تا با متخصصان اعتیاد و افراد در ریکاوری در تماس باشم. درباره نوشتن مقاله های بلندتر علمی مطمئن نیستم چراکه مسن تر شده ام و توانایی های ذهنی و میزان انرژی کمتری دارم و انجام این گونه مقاله ها سخت تر شده است. فکر کنم هنوز کار زیادی برای انجام در این حوزه دارم اما اکنون باید با دقت بیشتری انتخاب کنم سرعت مناسب داشته باشم و کارهایی که فراتر از توانایی های من است را تقبل نکنم.
آنچه بیشتر از انجام آن در این روزها لذت میبرم، استادی و هدایت جوانانی است که علاقه به تحقیق در حوزه ریکاوری دارند. امیدوارم که این کار را در سال ۲۰۱۸ همچنان ادامه دهم.
دوباره، در سال جدید بهترین ها را برای شما، خانواده تان و تمامی اعضای کنگره ۶۰ آرزومندم.

Dear Hossein,
It is always good to hear from you, even when our communications must be brief.
I think I have enough information from you to do a good summary within the interview on the X theory and the DST method. I will prepare this in a draft using language that I think will work well for an international audience and then let you make any needed corrections or desired revisions. Rita and my planned holiday will continue through mid-January, but I hope to get to work on the interview during the last two weeks in January. We will be traveling to North Carolina in early January to join two of my sisters who are renting a home on the ocean for our planned visit. I will begin work on the interview upon my return.
What good news that you have received permission to publish the 14 articles book. This will be another important contribution in your service to the addiction treatment field and to the men, women, and families that field has not always served well. If Ehsan is able to do the translation of this book, I will be delighted to have it posted on my website alongside your other books and articles.
Now that my book, Recovery Rising, is completed, I am starting to plan how best to use my time this coming year. I will continue to do my weekly recovery blog at least through most of this coming year. It has been a good way for me to continue communication with addiction professionals and people in recovery. I am unsure about taking on longer articles for scientific publication as these are becoming more difficult as I age in terms of both intellectual abilities and available energy. I think I still have much to contribute but must now choose more carefully and pace myself, being careful not to take on projects beyond my capabilities. What I am most enjoying these days is mentoring younger people who have interests in recovery research and recovery advocacy. I hope to continue that work in 2018.
