Dear Hossein,
I hope you and your family are well.
Regarding your request for my participation in the panel for the September Addiction Science Conference, I’ve attached a draft for your review to see if you feel this presentation would mesh well with other panel presentations. As we did last time, my hope was that you, Shani, or someone else could present this on my behalf. Do let me know what you think.
Also, I wanted to give you an update on our research project. The first paper is close to completion and ready for submission. I only need to do further condensing to get the word count down to what is acceptable for most journals and then proceed with the submission process. That is the good news. The bad news is that Dr. Sarapas and Candace will not be able to return to work on their statistical analysis paper until after August. Here in the U.S., we are experiencing major disruptions in addiction research due to threatened budget cuts by the present government leadership. That is forcing a reallocation of time for all of the research scientists at Chestnut. I hope by September 1, we will have a clearer idea of when we can commence this work and begin drafting the second paper. Our deepest apologies for this delay.
