خوشحالم که می‌شنوم خوب هستید. من نیز بعد از چالش سلامتی اخیرم بهتر هستم و انرژی بیشتری دارم.
بابت مدارکی که بابت ارائه اخیرتان دریافت نموده‌اید تبریک میگویم. چنین تلاش‌هایی برای انتقال دانش علمی و تجربی کنگره ۶۰ به جهان الزامی است. همکاری شما با دانشگاه‌هایی که ذکر کردید نیز به این انتقال کمک خواهد کرد و من خوشحال هستم که چنین همکاری‌هایی در حال رخ دادن هستند.
فعالیت‌های آموزش دادن حتماً برای شما منبعی لذت‌بخش و معنادار است. من دل‌تنگ آموزش دادن حضوری هستم. در سال‌های اخیر به اجبار آموزش‌هایم را به نوشتن تقلیل داده‌ام.
در دو هفته اخیر که از نظر جسمانی بهبود یافته‌ام روی کتاب پیشرفت خوبی داشته‌ام. بعد از اتمام بازبینی اول مصاحبه‌ها، روی مقاله‌های ترجمه شده به انگلیسی و کتاب‌های شما کار می‌کنم. چکیده نقل‌قول‌ها درباره اعتیاد، ریکاوری، درمان و خدمات متنوع ریکاوری که فکر می‌کنم برای افراد و خانواده‌های به دنبال ریکاوری در سطح بین‌المللی جذاب هستند را استخراج می‌کنم.
من تصور می‌کنم این کتاب منبعی برای اطلاعات ضروری، بازخوانی روزانه و الهام‌بخش باشد. از نظر فیزیکی نیز کتابی در قطع کوچک که فرد بتواند به‌راحتی با خود حمل کند و به‌صورت روزانه در همه‌جا مطالعه کند باشد. اندازه کتاب مورد تصور من ۴ در ۶ اینچ است و در هر صفحه دو یا سه نقل‌قول دارد.
همچنین به نظرم یک نسخه دیگر کتاب می‌تواند با روکش چرم و یا جلد محکمی زیبا مانند نسخ خطی کلاسیک باشد و نسخ دیگر به‌صورت کاغذی و آنلاین نیز فراهم بشوند. چنین جزئیاتی را وقتی کتاب حاضر شد بررسی می‌کنیم، اما تصور اندازه فیزیکی آن و نحوه استفاده از آن روی انتخاب مطالبی که پیشنهاد می‌کنم در کتاب باشد تأثیرگذار است.
وقتی بازبینی من از مقالات و کتاب‌های شما تمام شد، به سراغ آرشیو ایمیل‌هایمان خواهم رفت. قبل از این مرحله آخر می‌توانم پیش‌نویسی از هر آنچه جمع‌آوری کرده‌ام برای شما ارسال کنم تا مطمئن شوم که مورد تأیید شما می‌باشد.
همچنین فکر می‌کنم موضوعاتی هست که در نوشته‌ها آن‌ها را آدرس‌دهی نکرده‌اید و یا از طریق داستان توضیح داده اید و برای کتاب بهتر است به نوع دیگری به‌صورت خلاصه مطرح شوند. وقتی کار بازبینی‌ام به اتمام برسد این موضوعات را برای شما لیست خواهم کرد.
بازبینی کل نوشته‌های شما به‌صورت متمرکز که اکنون در حال انجام هستم خود تجربه‌ای جالب است. این کار باعث شده است بیشتر قدردان خدمات شما باشم و نیز در تصمیم‌هایم برای آنکه کدام نقل‌قول‌ها را برای کتاب پیشنهاد دهم تأثیرگذار بوده است.
در این هفته ابتدایی سال جدید برای شما، خانواده و تمام اعضای کنگره ۶۰ بهترین‌ها در سال ۲۰۲۳ را آرزو می‌کنم. یک سال دیگر از همکاری‌های مفیدمان را آغاز کردیم.

Dear Hossein,
I am pleased to hear from your last communication that you are doing well. I am also doing well as my recovery from recent health challenges continues to progress along with my energy.
Congratulations on the certificates of appreciation you received for your recent presentations. Such dissemination efforts are critical in sharing with the world the scientific and experiential knowledge developed within Congress 60. Your collaborations with noted universities will also facilitate this dissemination, and I am delighted to hear that such collaborations are proceeding.
Your continued teaching activities must be a source of great pleasure and meaning for you. I do miss such face-to-face teaching opportunities. In recent years, I have had to limit my teachings to my writings.
With my renewed health these past two weeks, I have made steady progress on the book project we have discussed. After completing my first review of your interviews, I am working my way through your papers that have been translated to English and your books--excerpting topical quotes specific to addiction and recovery that I think will be of most interest internationally to people seeking recovery and to those working in addiction treatment and various recovery support services.
I envision this book as a source of critical information, meditation, and inspiration, and see it physically as a book small enough in size that one could easily carry it on one’s person and read as desired or as a daily meditational. The book I am modeling it on is about four by six inches in size with two to three quotes per page. I also think a version of the book could be leatherbound or have a beautiful hard cover like that of a classic manuscript as well as paperback and online versions. Such details can be explored once the book is compiled, but envisioning its physical size and how it will be used is influencing my selections of what I would recommend being included. Once my review of your papers and books is complete, I will move to reviewing the archives of our email communications. Before this latter step, I can send you a draft of what I have completed to date to make sure you approve of what I am doing.
I also think there may be some topics that you have not addressed in your writings or have addressed primarily through story that would be too long to include in this book that I could suggest you write brief reflections on that we can include. When my review is complete, I will note for you any such topics that we may also want to include.
It is quite an experience to review all of your writings in such a concentrated time period as I am doing. It has given me a far greater appreciation of your contributions and added import to the decisions I am making on what quotes from your writings I recommend to you for the book.
On this first week of the new year, I wish you, your family, and all members of Congress 60 the very best for 2023. We now begin another year of productive collaboration.
