این بسیار جالب است، خیلی مسائل ممکن است.

This looks hugely interesting and there are real possibility
Obviously this is a very different substance use profile than we would see in the UK and the US and my hope is that we can work towards a preliminary study or paper and then possibly a post-graduate project-either a Masters by research or a PhD
Michael and Catrin are both incredibly motivated and extremely capable and as a team I am hopeful that we can make a useful contribution to this work

بسیار خرسندم که مکاتبات من با محققان آمریکا و انگلستان باعث چنین پاسخ گرمی شده است. خصوصا پاسخ دکتر بِست بسیار مهم است چرا که او یکی از دانشمندان مشهور بین المللی است که متمرکز بر حوزه ریکاوری اعتیاد تحقیق می کند. معتقدم همکاری شما با ایشان و همکاران وی، نتایج مطلوبی به بار خواهد آورد.
به آنها گفتم که یکی از بزرگترین محرومیت های من این بود که وضعیت سلامتی من اجازه نداد که به ایران بیایم و شخصاً با شما ملاقات کنم و کار شعبات کنگره 60 را از نزدیک تجربه کنم. به آن ها گفتم که امیدوارم آنها به نیابت از من به ایران بیایند تا تهران و دیگر شهرهایی که کنگره 60 در آن شعبه دارد را بازدید کنند تا من از طریق آنها به نوعی بازنویسی تاریخچه ریکاوری از اعتیاد که کنگره 60 در ایران به انجام می رساند را تجربه کنم.
بسیار امیدوارم که آن ها بتوانند این سفر را به انجام برسانند و باعث تاسف است که نمی توانم با جسم به آنجا سفر کنم.
این مکاتبه ای کوتاه خواهد بود چرا که تحت تاثیر آب و هوا قرار گرفته ام و شرایطی مانند آنفولانزا دارم که باعث شده صدایم را از دست بدهم. فردا دکترم را ملاقات خواهم کرد و امیدوارم که خیلی سریع سلامت و صدایم را بدست بیاورم. در حال حاضر تنها می توانم پچ پچ کمک.

I am so pleased that we are having such a warm response to my communication with US and UK researchers about Congress 60. The responses from Dr. David Best are particularly exciting as he is emerging as one of the leading international scientists focusing on recovery research. I think your collaboration with him and his colleagues holds great promise. I have told them that one of my greatest disappointments was that health limitations prevented my traveling to Iran to visit you in person and experience firsthand the work of the many branches of Congress 60. I told them my hope was that I could experience this vicariously through them if they were able to visit Tehran and other cities in which Congress 60 is rewriting the history of addiction recovery in Iran. I do have great hopes that they will be able to do make this journey and so regret that I will be with them only in spirit
This communication will be short as I am a bit under the weather here, having caught a flu-like condition that among other things has taken away my voice. I will see my Doctor tomorrow and hopefully quickly regain my health and speech. At present, I can barely speak above a whisper

همانطور که دیوید اشاره کرد، من و مایکل ادواردز بسیار علاقه مند به همکاری با شما درباره تحقیق و ریکاوری در ایران هستیم.
من با دیوید بست بر روی پروژه های ریکاوری زیادی همکاری کرده ام و در حال حاضر یک پروژه درباره خانواده های ریکاوری را که توسط یک ارکان قدرتمند در انگلستان راه اندازی شده رهبری می کنم. (تحقیقات الکل در انگلستان)
هدف این پروژه سازگاری زندگی در ریکاوری با خانواده های افراد در ریکاوری است. ما در حال حاضر در مرحله خلق و پایلوت زمینه یابی این تحقیق هستیم. به علاوه پروژه PHD من در سال 2015 تمام شد، درباره نرخ آدمکشی و خودکشی در فرهنگ های دیگر بود و من علاقه مند به مطالعه حقایق مربوط به رفاه و زندگی کشورهای غیر غربی مانند ایران شدم. به خاطر همین علایق، من بسیار علاقه به ادامه این همکاری دارم.
همکار من مایکل ادواردز نیز با دیوید بر روی چندین پروژه ریکاوری همکاری داشته است. مایکل در حال حاضر بر روی یک پروژه در آمریکا کار می‌کند که اندازه گیری منابع ریکاوری برای افراد مقیم خانه های ریکاوری را بر عهده دارد.

Dear Hossein,
As David mentioned in previous emails, myself and Michael Edwards are very interested in collaborating with you on recovery research in Iran.
I work with David Best on various recovery related projects and I am currently leading a project on Families in recovery, which is funded by an influential UK organisation (i.e., Alcohol Research UK). This project aims to adapt the Life in Recovery survey to experiences of family members of users or those in recovery. We are now in the stages of creating and piloting this survey. In addition, my PhD project (finished in 2015) was on cross-national rates of homicide and suicide and I developed in interest in studying various facets of well-being in non-Western countries, including Iran. Because of a these intersecting interests, I would be very interesting in moving forward with a collaboration.
My colleague, Michael Edwards, also works with David on several recovery projects. Michael is working on a project in America evaluating recovery capital with individuals in recovery residing in 'recovery residences'. That project is a major pilot for the REC-CAP recovery capital measurement tool. He is also working on a project funded by The Health Foundation focused on creating 'community connectors' to assertively link new to recovery service users to assets available in the community, using the Asset Based Community Development model. This project also assesses recovery capital using the REC-CAP. Michael is overseeing the development and expansion of the REC-CAP and involved in a number of other projects utilising it, including within prison treatment programmes in the UK.
