من جواب‌های مثبت زیادی از نامه‌هایی که به محققان آمریکا و انگلستان درباره پتانسیل همکاری با کنگره 60 فرستادم دریافت کرده ام. خیلی‌ها ایمیل را به همکاران و دانشجویان خود ارسال کرده‌اند و تعدادی نیز خواهان تماس مستقیم با شما هستند. اولین اینها دکتر دیوید بست است که امروز برای شما جوابش را فرستادم. ایشان همکار من در تحقیق NA ایران بودند. دکتر مارک گالانتر نیز ابراز علاقه به کنگره 60 کرده است. فکر کنم تمام اینها زمان می‌خواهد اما اطمینان دارم این مکاتبات جدید در ماه‌ها و سال‌های آینده قطعا ثمره خواهد داد. از آنجایی که من دیگر هیچ مطالعه‌ای را رهبری نمی‌کنم، برای من بسیار مهم است تا افرادی را برای پیش بردن کاری که با هم شروع کرده‌ایم پیدا کنم.

علاقه دارم که جزئیات این کار را بدانم. منطق شما درباره انجام این کار واضح و قانع کننده است. در حال حاضر روی یک کار تصویری درباره تاریخچه درمان اعتیاد و ریکاوری در آمریکا کار می‌کنم که بر روی سایت من قرار خواهد گرفت. تکمیل آن زمان خواهد برد اما از انجام آن بسیار لذت می‌برم. تکمیل آن موکول شده به بعد از انتقال پایگاه سایت من که خیلی بیشتر از آنچه فکر می‌کردم به طول انجامیده است. امیدوارم تمام این کارها تا بهار به اتمام برسد تا کار هفتگی وبلاگ ریکاوری من از سر گرفته شود. بلاگ درباره تاریخچه کنگره 60 از اولین کارهایی است که دوباره آغاز خواهم نمود.

I am getting very positive responses to the letter I sent to US and UK research scientists about potential collaboration with Congress 60. Many are forwarding the email to their colleagues and students and a few have already asked me about communicating directly with you. The first of these—from Dr. David Best—I forwarded to you this morning. My collaborator on the Iran NA study, Dr. Marc Galanter, has also expressed interest in Congress 60. I think this will all take some time but I am confident this will all bear fruit in the months and years to come. Since I am no longer leading research studies, it is important for me to find others who will carry this work forward that we have begun. What I most hope for is a PhD student who for their dissertation would write the history of Congress 60 and a leading or aspiring research scientist who would conduct a series of published studies on Congress 60 methods and recovery outcomes.
I look forward to hearing more about how to combine MMT and DST method. In the US, so-called “split dosing” is used only with occasionally with patients who are viewed as “fast metabolizers” and who experience anxiety and discomfort toward the end of each day when given only a single daily methadone dose. I am interested in the details of how this is done. Your rationale for it below is quite vivid and convincing.
I am currently working on a photo gallery of the history of addiction treatment and recovery in the US for presentation on my website. It will take some time to do but I am enjoying the work on it very much. Completing this is contingent upon transferring my website to a new platform which is taking far longer than I expected. I’m hoping all of this will be behind me by spring and I can begin adding new information on the site and restart my weekly recovery blog. My blog on Congress 60 will be one of the first when I begin this again.
