Communications of Hossein and Bill (Reply to bill- Nov 11, 2019)

Nov 11,2019

Dear Bill,

I hope you are fine, I am well.

I am very delighted that you are trying to achieve a desired weight. Hopefully, you will get there.

What I did and still doing was weighting myself every day!

So, every morning before breakfast with a lightweight clothing I was on a scale, and this scale was like a pointer telling me how to proceed.

Important point is to keep the scale in the same location since moving it to another location may interfere with showing the correct weight. (Different slope perhaps)

About the worldview;

Yes! You have absorbed the true meaning of it just like I meant it. Worldview is different than psychological interventions. If you pay attention to my addiction treatment triangle – body, psyche, worldview, you will see that worldview is totally different with psyche, although it effects psyche.

Worldview is a lost ring in addiction treatment and recovery and without it a true treatment and a stable recovery is almost impossible.

Some parts of needed worldview is written as “love 14 valleys for recovery”. I wish we could make this book available to American readers.

Dear Bill,

You are absolutely correct, you have spoken beautifully about the worldview. And I quote “I see it as more focused on the reconstruction of character, values and life meaning and purpose. What recovery from addiction affords through such a reconstruction process is not just getting well but getting better than well. In this sense, people in recovery are able to turn what has been a curse into a blessing

Worldview is true perception of life and living and how to use bless of life. It means transition from fear to courage, from humility to gratification, from ignorance to wisdom, and at last from hatred to love.

Worldview is the transition of an unbalanced human being into a balanced and responsible one. The education of worldview must be alongside with recovery.

And again you are correct, the DST method frees the body while worldview frees the soul and both are nested in a fellowship of shared experience and hope as you mentioned.

I am happy that you are participating in Punta Gorda conference.

To see old friends and colleagues is joyful.

I hope you will have this opportunity to discuss your insights about worldview and its effect on recovery in this conference.

You have divided your career into three sections:

1. Learning about intoxicating drugs and addiction

2. Addiction treatment

3.  Long-term recovery

These 3 sections were interesting for me since it is a movement from root to body of the tree and then to branches, leaf and then flowers and fruits.

Your career includes addiction treatment and recovery fully.

Now please answer those three questions kindly. Do briefly write your own insights and insights of other experts. Perhaps you can raise these questions in the conference and ask your friends as well. Then we can analyze the answers together.

1. What is addiction?

2. Who is a drug abuser or addict?

3. What is psyche?

I hope that work on your website will be completed soon and you can go back to reflection and writing.

Enjoy being your family especially with Alisha and her husband coming to visit you and Mrs. Rita.

Friends and brothers on heaven and earth forever

Hossein
