Communications of Hossein and Bill (Reply to Hossein - May 27, 2022)

Dear Hossein,

My deepest congratulations on publication of the gene expression study as well as today’s publication of the blood cancer paper. I appreciate receiving both a PDF of the article and the intent link to it. I am particularly looking forward to reviewing the forthcoming Covid article as well.  Such publications are an important milestone in the history of Congress 60 and dissemination of its work to the international scientific and clinical communities.

Your present connection to Dr. George Kolodner is a potentially important one as is his facilitation of connections with the leaders at NIDA. NIDA works very slowly but its potential interest in Congress 60 could mark a seminal event in Congress 60’s international dissemination efforts. I have been pushing NIDA leaders for years to pursue a recovery research agenda apart from their studies on the neurobiology of addiction and it is only recently that this work has proved fruitful with new funding for recovery research. With patience and likely fits and starts the same could be true with our present efforts to involve NIDA.

I have been quite busy with getting my website transferred to the oversight of Chestnut Health Systems. The transfer was completed this week and the next few weeks will involve checking all of the site for any glitches that may have occurred in the transfer of so many documents. The papers seem to have transferred well, but the transfer of blogs resulting in errors that required that I proof and correct more than 300 blogs. Needless to say, that was an exhausting task, but now it is complete. I am sure there will be other small changes that will be required before the website work is fully done. At least we can say that there will be a repository of the work we have done together and key books and papers of yours that will be available to U.S. and international audiences long after we have passed our legacy to others.

Please extend my warmest regards to your family and to all members of Congress 60.

Friends and Brothers Forever,

Bill
