“A window to the heavens” is staged all over Iran and the world.
The last show of the play “A window to the heavens” was staged in Sepand theatre in the presence of Congress60’s watchers and members.
The play which is a common work of Amir and Hossein Dezhakam has been staged for 30 nights and was uniquely welcomed by the audience.
Furthermore, the ceremony of the 50th anniversary of Bahram Ibrahimi’s artistic activities was held in the presence of some actors of media such as cinema, theatre, and radio.
Meanwhile, Congress60’s members were the outstanding proponents of the play so that members of other branches came to watch it.
Talking about people’s reception and their request for its continuation, Mr. Dezhakam said:
The play has been staged for 30 nights and the theatre was full all the nights so that the audience had to sit on the stairs except two nights at which one row was empty.
Pointing out his most important goal of preparing the play, he added:
I had two important messages. In recent years when modernism is fashionable, it has been tried to show that going to theatre is dedicated to a special group like elites while I wanted to say it is for all strata of people.
Theatre in Europe originated in the heart of people. Theatre in Iran was formed in traditional coffee shops and was usual among people. It was fashionable to read epic poems of Ferdowsi even in the furthest villages. We should do something to improve people’s relationship with the theatre.
Another message is the fact that we need national teachers to teach all groups of people not in classrooms. Generally, some subjects are presented and nobody understands anything of them. It is necessary to speak simply and fluently in order for people to understand. If you speak about a subject philosophically, nobody listens to you. But it will be attractive if it is mixed with humor which was added to this play.
Other works by Mr. dezhakam include “ta’arofe khorasani” about mysticism and the story of Shams and Rumi with a completely different view, and “Edmund and Helga” which its first edition has 10,000 copies and has already reached the seventh edition.
At the closing night of the play, Mrs. Annie Dezhakam mentioned: “It is necessary for people to watch these types of plays on one hand, and on the other hand it makes them happy”. She also asserted that people’s reception has been unique and although many theatres are not crowded, there has not been enough room for the audience.
Amin Dezhakam, the worldview watcher in Congress60, added: “This play revivified the subjects which had been forgotten, and in fact, it emphasized that theatre and art is dedicated to all social strata of people. It tries to motivate people, teach them, and improve their life style.
“A window to the heavens” made an effort to revivify the fact that we should come back to simplicity and can change our lives. In order to change, we should be able to communicate with the audience. The key for this communication is to simplify the contents.
It was a new beginning since plays moved through two different paths. The first included superficial talk and inappropriate jokes whereas the second consisted of hyper-philosophical and abstract words. However, this play moved through the third different path.
About the closing of the play, I should say that as it progressed, it became more mature and beautiful. This indicated that the work is presentable. There is a potential for Mr. Dezhakam’s works to be performed many times and bring the message of simplicity, beauty and enjoying artistic concepts to people.
