The eleventh  session of the 64th  round of the Academy Branch Workshops was held on January   23rd  2018 at 9:20 a.m. This meeting was held by Mr. Dezhakam as the master of ceremony and traveler Meisam as the secretary. The weekly agenda was: “Detoxification and Non-Detoxification”.

Mr. Dezhakam: I hope you are keeping well. Today is the 23rd of January and the agenda is “Detoxification and Non-Detoxification”. A  very great mistake which took place in the medical science was “detoxification”. I cannot understand how they did not understand the depth of the problem (of addiction). How naive was this method, they thought that they had to clean the addict’s body from drugs. However, the truth is that addictive drugs are not poison but medicine. They believed that if we clean drugs from the addict’s body,  detoxification is carried out. To respond this wrong idea, I provided an example (17 years ago): suppose that a city has been bombarded with bombs for 20 years, if you gather all the exploded remains, does the city become normal and developed? All the infrastructures including dams, water and electricity systems have been destroyed, how is it possible to change this destroyed city to a developed one only by gathering the exploded remains? It is a big mistake. Because of this mistake in the medical science (detoxification), millions of people have died and hundreds of thousands of people have committed suicide, because they neither could cure their addiction, nor could they tolerate addiction anymore.

Detoxification is unable to cure addiction; furthermore, it adds other problems to addiction. The peak of the problem was the time when anesthesia was added to this method, ROD (Rapid Opioid Detoxification), in which the addict was anesthetized for 24 or more hours  and detoxification medicine was injected into the addict’s body. They received the vertical (alive) addicts and gave out horizontal (dead) ones. However, this was not an end to this process. Thereafter, UROD (Ultra Rapid Opioid Detoxification) was proposed, because the only thing they sought out was negative urine test. They only seek this negative test but they did not pay attention to the problems arose.

Professor William White sent me a letter saying that in the United States they treat addiction within 30 to 60 days. And we can see what sufferings and pains these poor individuals tolerate, because they only seek to drive out drugs from the addict’s body. They are mistaken about the problem and solution and no one tried to focus on the problem. All over the world, they mimic the US, and since the US was using ROD and UROD, others in other countries imitated this method.

Once in the US, they were not allowed to take the alcoholics to the hospitals and if a doctor visited an alcoholic, their medical license was declared void. They believed that hospitals were not a place for alcoholics and the alcoholics themselves had to stop drinking alcohol to get treated. The physicians made a trick and hospitalized the alcoholics under the name of mentally disordered patients. And eventually, the medical science was allowed to interfere with addiction. In the beginning of the Iran’s revolutionary era, they thought the same and believed that addicts had to stop smoking drugs. Every one was trying to interfere in this field (without having the required knowledge), a yoga practitioner from England  tried to treat addiction using yoga exercises. He believed that he could take out drugs from the addict’s body and joints, using yoga exercises. Since the problem of addiction was unknown to people, anyone tried to interfere in this field, some claimed that it is enough to have some strong will to get rid of addiction and some believed that addiction is a mental and psychological problem.

Do you know the statistics of their results? Their results show 90% of the treated ones return to addiction after one or two years, however the results of a study carried out by the Iran’s Narcotics Headquarters show that over 84 per cent of individuals treated in Congress60 stay well and liberated from addiction even after 22 months. Therefore, it is completely true that  Iran is at least 20 years ahead of the world in the realm of curing addiction. This claim is based on a research carried out by the scientific academies and centers, the sample consisting of 500 members was randomly selected from 3800 liberated individuals of Congress60 and Dr. Mohammadi and Dr. Mokri were the observers of this study. This extraordinary result is because we have understood what addiction is, we have understood that detoxification is wrong.

Thank you for listening to me.
