Communications of Hossein and Bill (Reply to Hossein - Sep 13, 2018)

Sep 13, 2018

Dear Hossein,

Pardon my delay in writing.  Rita and I just returned from a short vacation to visit family members in Illinois.  It was a good trip filled with warm fellowship with family and old friends.  I also had a chance to work one day in the Addiction Studies Archives that holds my collections on the history of addiction treatment and recovery.  You will be pleased to know that plans are afoot to create a section of my materials on Congress 60 that will be available to future historians.  This section will contain a repository of your writings, our communications, and the many photos you have shared with me over the years.
I am delighted that you are still meeting with Dr. Nouruzi and I look forward to reviewing his revised paper after these meetings have been completed.
Now that I am home, I look forward to working on the new photo gallery section of my website.  It will likely take several months of work before I am able to start posting the first slide presentations on the history of recovery in the U.S. Perhaps down the road, we can work jointly on a gallery on the history of recovery in Iran.
I am not sure if the methadone solution remains sweet in the U.S. but I suspect it does.  In the years I was evaluating methadone programs in the 1970s and 1980s they were still mixing methadone with Tang—a commercial product that was sugary sweet like orange juice.
Yes, do tell me more about the 14 articles and your plans for their dissemination.
Pardon the brevity of this communication.  I will write more when I catch up on awaiting tasks from two weeks of vacation. It is good to be home.
Please extend my warmest greetings to your family and to all members of Congress 60.

Friends and Brothers Forever,
Bill
