What a delightful news, hopefully international researches on DST method and long term recovery soon will be launched.
Good news is that our rugby team captain is nominated as the coach of Iran national rugby team. He was a dangerous meth user who learned how to play rugby within Congress 60. He is 5 years sober now.
I would like to explain a research which was done on some meth users within Congress 60 and I think it is interesting to Dr. Best, Dr. Edwards, Dr. Rawson and Dr. Galanter.
A university (Khaje Nasir) wanted to evaluate the effect of DST method on bus drivers who were meth abusers.
Therefore, a joint research was done with the cooperation of Congress 60.
We asked meth abusers who entered Congress 60 to participate in this research. If they were willing then we introduced them to the university researchers and they used a bus simulator (driving in city while obstacles were on the road) to assess their reactions. Their reaction to obstacles were unnatural and dangerous.
After three months of being under DST method and OT they were tested by the same simulator again. This time their reaction was rational and healthy. This research is being translated to be published in an international journal. I will inform you of its progress.
Although I believed that 3 months is very short and they must have done it for a year milestone.
The supervisor of this research and other one (retention research) is Dr. Masoud Haj Rasouli who holds a PhD in physiology and he is a university lecturer.
I mentioned this to confirm that we have great scholars (in field of engineering, recovery, sociology, medical, psychology, genetics and etc.) in Iran and they are willing to cooperate in our researches on addiction treatment and recovery.
We can transfer the knowledge on DST method and OT with their help and support to others.
I am so delighted that I have a brother who loves to serve others and had dedicated his life to this valuable cause.
