Communications of Hossein (Reply to Hossein from Michael and Catrin - Feb 13 , 2017)

2017/02/13

Good day Hossein. We hope this finds you well. It is our honour to be invited to work with you and Congress 60. What you are doing is quite extraordinary and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about it.

We must apologise for the delay getting back in touch with you. We have been working with the university for clearance to proceed with this project. As you may imagine, the university has levels of internal governance that we must address. To our great disappointment, the university has advised that whilst we can proceed with securing clearance for the project, the university will not authorise our travel to Iran. We are investigating an appeal of that position but it seems most likely that it will be necessary that we work remotely, which is not a prohibition but does raise some structural and design issues for us to consider and resolve.

One consideration that comes to mind would be to work with a researcher in Iran to assist at the local level. Do you have an existing relationship with someone who may be interested in partnering with us?

We would request your continued patience as we investigate this further. We are determined to overcome any hurdles and move forward with the project. We will be back in touch with you very soon.

Respectfully,

Catrin and Michael
