I hope you are fine, I am well.
How beautiful and meaningful your slogan is: “recovery by any means necessary under any circumstances”. This slogan conveys the true aim of recovery.
I am agreed with you that combination of different methods without prejudice can yield effective results.
Since Congress 60 is utilizing NA structure for initial group therapy combined with other philosophical, psychological and physiological materials, sports and etc. it can be a vivid evidence of your words.
If we could utilize different combinations our successes will escalate.
In some countries the D.S.T method could be used to initiate recovery and when the recovery process is stabilized, then NA (or any other method) could be used as another resource to support long-term recovery.
Someone is pointing to the moon but out of ignorance and prejudice some people assume that the index finger is what he is trying to show.
They start talking and debating about the beauty of the index finger while the prime subject (the moon) is ignored. This is the main issue in some ideologies and religions.
In our field the prime subject is to reach high quality treatment of drug abusers and methods are means to achieve this very goal.
Hopefully after Dr. Galanter fulfilled his paper on NA comparison between Iran and the U.S. we may conduct a joint research. I leave this matter to you.

Dear Bill, we are getting prepared for the Nowruz. Congress 60 enters holidays for 14 days starting from initiation of spring. Perhaps I take a short trip as well.
Meanwhile, Tehran and other cities are preparing for the “tree planting” ceremony. As you can recall the “twelfth valley” indicates those who are revived of addiction within Congress 60 are to plant a tree annually.
Hopefully we will plant a few thousands trees this year.
I will send pictures regarding this ceremony afterwards.
