DST method of cure - Spirituality

Either DST method of cure does not work, or the person did not allow it to work. Most often when I hear the statement; “Congress 60 method of cure doesn’t work” it is delivered with a rather negative verbal effect. The response that I received is more like “I dare you to help me” than it is a cry for help. The idea that addiction is a disease which requires not only body remedy, but also spiritual awakening and worldview transformation to overcome, is not appealing to those who oppose any form of spirituality.

DST method of cure has been used by thousands of drug abusers since first coming on the Iranian scene in 2000, and there are more than two thousands of addicts who have been cured by this method thus far.

The “14 valleys of Congress 60” imply a trusting relationship with a power greater than us. People of faith attribute this power to God. In secular terms, that power greater than yourself must be defined in another way. Is it the love and support of friends, family and therapists? Is it having a sponsor or mentor to help you through the rough times? Or are you alone?

Indeed if there is no power greater than one’s self, the DST method will not work, yet if there is a power out there that a person can trust and submit to, subsequently there is hope. You can pick and choose which Valleys make sense, and that might yield some benefit, as there is wisdom in each Valley.

If the DST method doesn’t work, choose another path. The important point is to get help with your addiction. If people have given up on DST, the chances are very high that they have also given up on God. If they have given up on God it is likely that they have no foundational understanding of God, other than their own intellectual or emotional construct. With this in mind, the implied partnership in the “14 Valleys of congress 60” is, therefore, not working because there is a one-sided relationship going on.

A man who had been in and out of recovery for many years, told me that it wasn’t that the DST method didn’t work, but that he had trouble allowing that power greater than him to gain any significant place in his heart and mind.

All in all I believe the lack of success, in many cases, is attributed to pride and stubbornness more than any other factor. Whether agnostic, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist or Christian, the DST program has truly helped countless addicts overcome their disease. It has staying power because it does work.
