Dear Hossein,

Life is slowly returning to normal here in Southwest Florida following the hurricane damage to our area.  And there is a slight drop in temperature and humidity signaling the approach of the Fall season. Witnessing these natural and manmade disasters around the world remind us of how fragile and precious is the life we each have.
Do not worry about not being able to purchase my new book online.  I will be receiving my first hard copies later this month and will send you a signed copy as soon as I am able.  We can talk in the months ahead about getting all or parts of the book translated to Farsi.
I was so impressed with the photos you sent from the 11^th international symposium on addiction treatment.  I especially liked the photos of you addressing the symposium attendees.  There has long been a divide between academic researchers, policy makers, medical specialists, psychologists, and those working on the frontlines of addiction treatment. You have helped close this chasm through your work with those in these related fields.  That has helped carry the hope of recovery through proper treatment and support to these other disciplines.  You should be very proud of this accomplishment.
This next week, I hope to begin going through our past email communications to excerpt information that can be included in our next published interview.  Once that is complete, I will draft additional questions that I will send to you for your responses.  Then I will send you a draft of the whole interview for you to edit as you desire.  I will then post the interview on my website and perhaps use some excerpts from it in some of my weekly blogs.
Sometime in the coming months, I also want to do a blog with a few accompanying photos on smoking cessation within Congress 60, highlighting the DST method of tapering and the mutual support provided by the William White Legions.  If you have recent photos related to this that I could select from, please send them along to me. I would also like to include 1-2 quotes from you to include in this blog.  Could you provide brief responses to the following questions:
What prompted the change in attitudes and policies toward smoking within Congress 60?
Describe the effects of these changes on the personal recoveries of members of Congress 60 and on the culture of Congress 60.
